Alien: Isolation Trailer

So glad I didn't pre-order this, as much as I wanted it to be good I had a horrible feeling it would turn out to be another alien let down :(

Although there are some high scores, what is said in the others I think would be more accurate for my taste.. gamespot said "this is four hours' worth of a great idea stretched into 14-plus hours of messy stealth gameplay, creaky video game cliches, and limp exploration" which is what I feared.

What a shame..

I'm just going to get it and see for myself. These days I take most reviews with a pinch of salt, it's just another persons opinion at the end of the day. Destiny was hyped to the max and it has a big fan base but I thought it was meh. Each to their own.

Watched a few reviews and it sounds like my concerns have been bought to light. The alien encounters are spread about between a lot of exploring/switching/opening things and they have padded it out with droids. Will pick it up on the cheap..

Seen a few reviews on this and from reading about it, it sounds absolutely terrible. Gutted as I was looking forward to this.

As mentioned above, next to no Alien encounters and very little in terms of stuff to do. Will wait until it's around £20 odd before I consider it

A few reviews, as in reviews from questionable reviewers anyway.

Nice way to base thoughts of a game on... Not!

lolwot? Did you have a hand in developing this? Or is there another reason you're so butt-hurt by what I said?

Questionable in your opinion, but a video review isn't really something you can ignore. It's clear that the gameplay looks pretty dull given the limited encounters and tedious collecting. I could have muted the audio so not to hear what they were saying and still made my mind up from just seeing the video.

No it just tells me you are not a fan of survival horror. The format is not much different to other games just in this game there’s one main demon to steer clear of and it is running an unpredictable AI path and will learn how you play. I don’t know why you were expecting anything more when quite clearly from day 1 it has promoted itself as a game with only 1 Xenomorph and the whole concept is to avoid it, not fight it.

That’s fine though, the rest of us will enjoy it nonetheless and make our own minds up instead of listening to what a couple of reviewers have to say.

Besides, there are more reviews in favour of the game than there are disliking it. It just so happens some internet opinions tend to focus on what they want to only read and hear.

I am a massive fan of survival horror :p my top 3 most anticipated games of this generation are all survival horror games.

Can I be the first to say I told you so when you post on here saying you're slightly disappointed?

In ultra widescreen no game has yet to disappoint. My gut tells me it will be excellent and my gut hasn't let me down yet!

What!?! Are you sure?

I swear there was as a lot of people were saying how frightening this game was on the Oculus at some expo a while back? Or did they do it as a one off for that expo?

Justified in not pre ordering, mixed bag of reviews.... think i'll wait for actual user reviews as going off sites it's too mixed of a reaction to pick up right now.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it drop in price pretty quickly.

Yeah at the expo it was a working example but the retail game doesn't have it unless things changed last minute.
