Alien: Isolation...

The problem i forsee is that people will complete it in under 10 hours. Not sure if it is worth it no matter how good the game is.

From what I've seen, it could be even less. It really depends on the luck of where the alien roams etc. Some could have a far easier play through than others. It's been commented on by various game journos, even with a short section of the game to play with, the time taken to complete varies a good deal.

Personally, I'd only be annoyed if I completed a game like this in under 3 or 4 hours.

Seems like you cant jump in game

I think its just walk, run, crouch and lean round corners in terms of movement.

Im sure I read somewhere you can also hold your breath to avoid being detected when hiding from the Alien. If true, I like that idea.

Yes, I saw a video where someone was stuck on some crats and could not jump over.

Yeah when you are hiding in cupboards and the alien is lurking right outside you sometimes get a quick time event to hold your breath, I played it at Gamescom last month

What have you seen? A few people in this thread keep saying the game is going to be short but the only info on game length I can find was post a few pages back from a comment the developers made stating the game will be between 12 and 15 hours depending on play style.

Every video I've seen so far is the Alien spawning at exactly the same place, with lots and lots of scripted events. Pretty much on rails with the only AI being how the Alien walks about. Saw the same at EGX as well.

Will hold off for the moment before purchase

It appears the XBOX360 version of the game has leaked. Think I will hold off reading any other gaming forums fearing spoilers for a week :o

Surely, if your an Alien fan and the game re-creates the sheer horror and tension the original film gave us (I speak for the old gits like me :p ) it's going to be worth £15-20.

I have no doubt it won't retain the horror and fear after you've played through the story but at least there are speed runs and different modes.

I reckon your just chicken you big noob :D

I just like the fact that its still an FPS game, but completely different to the AVP and ACM games that we've had in the past. If the game is a success, I'd love to see the same idea but with even more depth applied to alien 3's storyline. Lighting the candles down the shaft and watching them being blown out would make some seriously good horror :D

What we need is Trackir implemented, for us without occulus rift!

Actually, we need Rift support implementing for those of us with a Rift. The demo they showed of at various shows was just that - a prototype demo. There's no Rift support in the full game :(

I was at EGX at Earl's court at the weekend and got a chance to play it for ten minutes. They'd set up a survival mode thing where you had to get from A to B in the shortest time possible without dying.

The winner got a jacket of some description, anyway, it was on Xbox 1 and PS4 (too much hassle lugging PCs there apparently).

So, I hate fps with a joypad, i'm awful with one and spend more time looking at the ceiling than anything else but I came away impressed enough to want to get it. It looked great and I could see it being very enjoyable with KB and Mouse.

Oh, I didn't come close to winning the jacket as I spent too long cowering in a cupboard.
