Alien: Isolation...

It doesn't matter how good this game might end up being, there will be a core of people who detest the hype train and have probably made their minds up to hate it regardless.

I'm avoiding any possible reviews until the release on Tuesday, want to play it untainted by others opinions.

LOL...111 minutes in, only just met Axel, really been stealthing and creeping through this. It doesn't help you hear the Alien from the very start and there are certain parts where you see it's tail, even though it doesn't always engage you.

I think i've taken so long as well because i'm soaking the whole game up, this is the first Alien(s) game to get the atmosphere & visuals perfect

Someone stop me from going insane and tell me how exactly you are meant to get past them people in Chapter 3? Crouching , trying to kill them, running through ALL RESULT in failure.

I can already tell I hate the human A.I in this game.

How do you get past people!?:mad::mad:

The big room where you pick up the hacking device?

Let the woman shoot at you and run away. Creep in and up to the left, go up the stairs to the room above the door you came in. Go out of that room and into the door directly opposite as you leave. You'll find some stairs, go down and you're done. Even if they see you go in this door, they will not follow you down the stairs.

You will have to come back through but "something" else will take care of them for you. ;)

I spent over an hour trying to kill them. Eventually lured them one by one out of the door and hit them with my wrench.

A few minutes later my mate did it the way I just described above.

Is anyone finding the androids more annoying than the alien? :D. There slow but there like the terminator walking towards you in groups. So annoying when you get stuck in a corner or a dead end lol. Do you try to sneak around them or just run past them?

Use the vents...once I conquered the fear of the Alien being in every one I found it it makes life a lot easier.

I didn't even meet Axel until about 2 hours in...had I known...

that there is no possible Alien contact until the scripted events when it's properly introduced, i'd have run through the first few parts

However I don't mind as i've really taken the time to soak up the atmosphere.

This game has massively surpassed expectation and it was already very high. I'm a huge Alien(s)(3) fan and have pretty much all the extended literature in the form of books, comics, behind the scenes stuff and so on.

The devs can pretty much sit back and say "nailed it" with a smug grin on their faces.

Gameplay wise, it's pretty basic but it works, they got the balance about right.

One thing that really impresses me, however small it may seem is that every locker has a unique interior.

It's little attention to detail like this that really shows the dedication towards this game.

Also pro-tip...if you're struggling to pick up more items because you have the max amount and don't have enough to make any one of the devices in full, store them in the construction menu, gives you more inventory space.

Has made a massive difference since I found this out by accident today

Or make devices?

I meant if you don't have enough to make the actual devices but reach the limit on the specific part, you can store it in the construction menu and then pick up more parts.

EDIT: For example, for the EMP mine you need the following:

2x Charge Pack, Sensor, 1x SCJ Injector, 2x Bonding Agent

If you were at your limit of charge packs, you find one, can't pick it up, but you don't have the SCJ injector to complete the mine. You store 2 of your charge packs into the construction menu and it free's up two inventory spaces.

Right now I have construction parts stored in every single device menu with the exception of the last part on each. It's freed up about 10/12 inventory spaces IIRC. Am at work so can't check.

Ok...first time in my life i've ever shouted out loud at something making me jump...

Escaping the med centre with the evac alarms going off, finally make it to the exit, cut scene starts, Alien drops down in front of me.

Literally jumped back in my chair and shouted to the point my missus ran upstairs as she thought i'd had an accident.

It's a hidden achievement where you need to complete the game without dying even once.

You can "cheat" by hitting escape as you know you're about to die and reload, if the Alien doesn't touch you, it doesn't count as a death.

I'm seeing so many folks on YT playing this, sprinting around and moaning they're getting killed all the time, real common sense check needed for some of these guys.

Anyone who's struggling in certain areas...turn off the music. It's a bit of a red herring for Alien approaches and also without it on, you'll have a far better chance of hearing where the Alien is.
