Alien: Isolation...

There was a book released called River of Pain, it takes place at Hadley's Hope, the setting for Aliens before the outbreak. I listened to the audiobook on Audible(it's a full cast dramatisation) and it was really good. It would make a really good game.

Yeah it's excellent, it's part of an official canon extended trilogy. It's really interesting seeing how the colony got over run.

It could easily be adapted in the same style as Isolation from the POV of the main book protagonist.

All 3 of the audible trilogy books are pretty awesome, fills in a lot of the timeline in between the Alien and Aliens movies.

There's a 4th, Cold Forge, while not an extension of Ripleys story it's better than the trilogy. Not that the trilogy is bad, it's just a step up in story telling.

It's boils my pee that the series is an IGN exclusive when they pretty much made sure Isolation was a flop with their initial reviews.

Is there enough new material in the web series to be worth watching for someone who's played the game extensively and remembers most of the cutscene stuff.

On a side note, watching Alien (1979) in the cinema tonight...whoop whoop.

Man, if you're an Alien fan, you shouldn't even be asking that question. You should be glued to your screen watching it again and again and again and again. LOL.

Look, i've watched the trainwreck of Covenant 5 times, that's how much of a fan I am

I’m ashamed to say I haven’t seen that once yet. And I’m a massive Alien fan.

I think I've seen it. Can't remember a thing about it though.

Trainwreck might be a little harsh, certainly until the mid point it's pretty good but then it falls apart rapidly.

I finally managed to get this game finished tonight.. What a horrible game (in a good way)! Definitely one of the better games I've played in a while. The missus will be glad I've finished as my screams of terror when I've been killed yet again won't keep her awake any more! The last few missions were pretty intense, getting hunted down by the Alien with hardly any supplies, I rage quitted more than a few times during that part.

Now do all the DLC's...especially the Nostromo one

I'll have to check them out, might need a break as my nerves might not be able to take it right away!

They're good for atmosphere but the most annoying thing is that virtually all of them are against the clock which made me lose interest quick. Obviously it makes sense for the Nostromo level to be time limited but it ruined the experience for the others.

I played 10 minutes of this, then unistalled.

Not sure why I purchased it when it was in the Steam sale, I cannot play scary games.

No shame in that, i've been trying to do a replay for 8 years but nerves are still shot

Mentioned before in another thread but think I spent close to two hours creeping about and crapping my pants before the first scripted Alien event back in 2014. Back then on launch no one knew the first time you see it is scripted
