Alien: Isolation...

This game is magnificent a new classic :D Atmosphere, lighting, gfx, tension, voice acting, music all top quality. Not the best gfx ever but the design & LOD is visually complex & pleasing.

I also got the Game exclusive DLC with mine which is a very tense mission where Ripley has to repeat the end of the movie Alien ;) the tension is intense & the atmosphere incredible :eek: March 2015 is the date you can buy it on its own from Steam AFAIK :(

I can understand some people might not like this as its very slow paced but the atmosphere is amazing you just have to put a lot of time into it I reckon it takes 2-3 hours perhaps longer just to get a basic understanding of some of the game mechanics. I can believe its around 20-25 hours long excluding the DLC I hope this is a sign to come of more intense SP only games instead of forcing MP+Co-Op on many games which do not even need it :rolleyes:

This game plays like System Shock2 in places as well ;)
 
The only downside from what I have seen so far is the lip sync but everything else is excellent. That sigh of relief when you pass a long section and find a save station, save your game then just relax from the tense position you were in - That's something not many games do :D
 
Yep totally agree with the above, really loving this. :)
I have started by playing as Parker in Crew Expendable, on hard and my God it is scary. :D
 
I am really looking forward to playing this. I have no idea when I will get it, but probably when I finish Shadow of Mordor. Depends on work.

Tbh, the game play itself looks quite boring, but otherwise it looks right up my street. Does the story hold up?
 
Loving the game so far.
I'm a big survival horror fan and so loving October as there are a few decent looking survival horror games coming up.


Reviews seem decent.
I know everybody has different opinions but how can ign give this game a 5.9 for being too long and the ai being 'unpredictable"

Sadly only way to get it in UK right now is to buy the physical DVD-Rom from Game. I managed to only pay £29.99 & got both pieces of DLC so not too bad its gone back up to full price now though £34.99.

Sega say all DLC will be sold to everyone in March 2015 :(

Actually AMD Radeon Reward users are getting this Ripley DLC as part of their redeem reward apparently although I have not seen anyone confirm it yet! Game would be in trouble if true as they marketed it as Game exclusive!!

crew expendable was a lot shorter than i thought it would be, damn terrifying in places also. the attention to detail was superb.

really glad i bought this but can only play it in small doses.
 
LOL...111 minutes in, only just met Axel, really been stealthing and creeping through this. It doesn't help you hear the Alien from the very start and there are certain parts where you see it's tail, even though it doesn't always engage you.

I think i've taken so long as well because i'm soaking the whole game up, this is the first Alien(s) game to get the atmosphere & visuals perfect
 
Has anyone else been monitoring the GPU usage of this game? Why is it peaking and toughing?
