Alien: Isolation...

Yeah, he ignores them. It is actually quite funny, and creepy seeing the androids try and talk to it!...at first I didn't like that it ignored them at all, but it is explained in-game (would be a spoiler).

"Unidentified species"

"Your presence has been logged by APOLLO"

I wish I could just say that to get out of being eaten by it

So someone paid them to say the game was crap ?

Teh conspiracies

Really? Thats what you got from what i said.

IGN are well known for receiving money or other luxuries in favour of a good review regardless of whether the game deserves it or not.

This instantly makes any opinion by them worthless and should readily be taken with a huge bucket full of salt. The fact that some of the things they have said in the latest video are beyond moronic is just another reason to ignore them all together.

Sadly too many take what companies like these say as gospel.

Like uh mah gawd some people have a different opinion about a game I like, must cry about it on a forum, call them bad words and fail to realise reviews are subjective.

It isn't about opinions, the review was mostly nonsense...and pretty much every criticism he had was something that everyone else praised the game for.

A subjective review will help no-one as it pertains specifically to the person writing it regardless of facts.

You don't have to like the game but acting retarded and trolling isn't going to impress anyone.

They are very similar to PC Gamer

At least PC Gamer used to put in the effort with an absolutely stellar podcast.

If you want to find them just google crate and crowbar (or type that into your podcast app). Their website goes by that name and all podcasts are on their too, just click on an episode and look for a little speaker symbol to click.

I highly recommend it for a very well structured, funny and ranged conversation about a plethora of games but they're also in the industry and discussing previews/events where only media are invited.

Pc gamer jacked in the uk cast last summer mate. The us rarely do one these days either.

If you're after a decent cast in the same manner, the gamers with jobs conference call comes close.

As for the alien, from what iv'e seen, i can realy see how it drags you in to the fear of the space you're in. Wouldn't mind picking it up, but i fear soiling the experience without playing it on a vr device.

New DLC incoming:

SEGA announced today that the first add-on pack out of five for their title Alien Isolation will be available on October 28.

The add-on pack named ‘Corporate Lockdown’ will offer players three new challenging and terrifying maps for the game’s Survivor Mode. Each of the challenge packs will offer a new perspective on the events on-board Sevastopol Station in the days before the arrival of the Weyland-Yutani team, with a new playable character, a unique set of objectives and a new game mode.

In ‘Corporate Lockdown’, Seegson Executive Ransome has learnt that he has been abandoned by his paymasters. Knowing that the Torrens is on the way, he decides to make his escape and hitch a ride on board, taking decoded Nostromo data with him. However, while escaping he wants to tie up a few loose ends… Across three new challenge maps, ‘Severance’, ‘Scorched Earth’ and ‘Loose Ends’, players are challenged to compete against others through Alien: Isolation’s online leaderboards, to escape the station in the fastest possible time or attain the top score through numerous side quests and hidden bonus objectives. New to ‘Corporate Lockdown’ is the addition of Gauntlet Mode where players are challenged to top the Gauntlet Mode leaderboards by completing all three challenge maps back-to-back without dying.

The add-on pack will be available to download via online marketplaces for available platforms from October 28, and will be priced at MSRP $7.99/€6.99/£5.59. Corporate Lockdown will be followed by four more add-ons: ‘Trauma’, ‘Safe Haven’, ‘Lost Contact’ and ‘The Trigger’. Each will feature a new playable character alongside a mix of new maps, objectives and game modes to challenge even the most proficient player.

Those who wish to play all of these add-on packs can take advantage of the Alien Isolation Season Pass which offers access to all five packs at a 25% discount, and will include all other DLC elements which will be released by March 2015.

I got good news for you buddy, they're back!

The PC Gamer UK podcast group moved over to crate and crowbar. Same lads, even Tom Francis who had left after becoming a millionaire from his indie game success. There's already three podcasts this month and the last episode was four days ago ;)

Cheers chap, another one for the list. Problem with podasts, there's so many, your never listening to the best one you should be.

Got 12hrs at work for any and all ramblings.

I do love podcasts. What other podcasts would you recommend?

Mine:
The Joe Rogan Experience
Bill Burrs Monday Morning Podcast
Smodcast (loved Kevin Smith more before he discovered weed)
Danny Wallace
The Crate & Crowbar
Robert Llewellyn's Carpool
David Mitchel's Soapbox
Ricky Gervais (the lot)

Having played the Survivor mode I am pretty disappointed that the DLC will come in this form.

I love the idea of the Corporate Lockdown etc but would prefer it to be more campaign based.

I will probably buy it but if it is anything like the Survivor mode on the game at present I doubt I would purchase any further add ons.

What I want is more campaign, not stuff against the clock. The game I love had me creeping around for hours trying to avoid an un-killable threat.

How can this be done against the clock? It would be luck surely.

Anyone recently did or remember later part of mission 7?
Got some question after getting the canister
Did you push the the button opposite the rack where the canister is?
If you did, what happened? Did the alien started roaming the floors? Any items appeared?

I didnt touched it and just back tracked without encountering any droids / alien and completed the mission. Felt weird as the return trip was smooth

After playing this game I watched the Aliens series of films. Wasn't into Aliens until after this game

Now I get the 'nuke from orbit, only way to be sure' jokes :o

This game is very similar to the film. Aliens 1 & 2 are great but the hell happened with 3, it was sooooooo bad

Someone a few pages back mentioned an additional inventory. How do you access this? I cannot find it anywhere?!

I think it's in regard to the schematics and placing the items in the build but not actually creating it, this stores the parts separately and creates space.

I can't check atm but it's something along those lines iirc.

Correct, I found this out yesterday. To gain an extra slot to store an item, allocate one of the items to a craft slot but don't actaully build the object. For example the Noise Maker requires 3 items to build, add all 3 items to build the object but don't actually build it. You now gain 1 slot in each item.

Difficult to explain or maybe it's just my writing lol
