Alien: Isolation...

Anyone recently did or remember later part of mission 7?
Got some question after getting the canister
Did you push the the button opposite the rack where the canister is?
If you did, what happened? Did the alien started roaming the floors? Any items appeared?

I didnt touched it and just back tracked without encountering any droids / alien and completed the mission. Felt weird as the return trip was smooth

I didn't see that you were referring to mission 7 so ignore.

It's the compression cylinder for the ... here's what was supposed to happen. Did you get something different?

After playing this game I watched the Aliens series of films. Wasn't into Aliens until after this game

Now I get the 'nuke from orbit, only way to be sure' jokes :o

This game is very similar to the film. Aliens 1 & 2 are great but the hell happened with 3, it was sooooooo bad

3 and 4 are best forgotten. 3 is barely watchable and 4 an outright disaster.

Why do they do this with film series? They make 1 or 2 good films then let people come in and ruin them.

Another great title that could have been so good was Alien Vs Predator. If they had followed a plot similar to the Original Atari Jaguar game it could have been a brilliant Sci-fi.

Except they went more the comic book route.

Alien Isolation could be an excellent film. New cast, maybe with a guest Sigourney Weaver appearance.

Watching the original Alien as I am typing and the set seems so familiar now :D

Correct, I found this out yesterday. To gain an extra slot to store an item, allocate one of the items to a craft slot but don't actaully build the object. For example the Noise Maker requires 3 items to build, add all 3 items to build the object but don't actually build it. You now gain 1 slot in each item.

Difficult to explain or maybe it's just my writing lol

Or hit build, you get a noisemaker and you can store more items in the slots. Nothing to gain by not building the item as once committed, you can't remove items from a slot.

Once you can build an object, do it, then store remaining items in the craft slot again.

I think it's in regard to the schematics and placing the items in the build but not actually creating it, this stores the parts separately and creates space.

I can't check atm but it's something along those lines iirc.

ahh yes - I got you now. Thanks :D

I did the same thing as the video. Although the button I was talking about was not highlighted in the video for some reason.

Around 22:48 the lower right of the video theres a control box and in my gameplay it glows and has a point of interest marker. Not sure why it does not glow on the video though.

Towards the end and getting very frustrated now. There have been quite a few cheap moments in the last few hours... Been on the same bit for ages now, died about 10 times. Alien knows where I am no matter what, stays within 10metres,ignores the flamethrower and noisemakers etc. Getting bored tbh.

Are you playing on Hard?

I heard that it's quite obvious that the alien is glued to you in some parts and so I've opted for Medium, I hope it's not the case in lower difficulties...

I am on medium. Not had a problem up until now. The last hour has been ridiculous. They are ignoring the flamethrower now!

Such a shame as all the amazing atmosphere has been ruined by the last hour:/... It has gone from tense to tedious.

I was all set to finish it tonight, but I can't be bothered now.

I just completed it on Hard...the last 2 missions are very much a ball ache with the Alien constantly harassing you (although it doesn't ignore the Flamethrower for me...25 rounds in its face and it goes off squealing).....if you have come this far get it done......the ending is a bizarre one.

Are you sure you're actually hitting it with the flamethrower? Sometimes it would take three blasts, other times it would bowl me over but I'd singed it enough to make it jog on.

I think there is a slight flamethrower glitch. If the alien is moving slowly it doesn't always have any effect. It seems to stand still for a second or two then charge at you.

I found once I was committed to using the flamethrower it was best to move towards it getting a real clean shot.

Could be just out of range for a nice toasty burn or maybe not presing the fire button long enough to roast him.

I've not finished it yet, but I think the tension goes out when you get the flamethrower. Once you have a way to fight back you are not as cautious. It should be something used in a level or two until you lose it.

Well if you are playing it on hard, you will find you have very little Fuel and I found most the time I had none at all.....towards the end, if you didnt have the Flamethrower, i'd probably stop playing through pure frustration as the Alien is relentless towards the end.

Just a reminder, a lot of us haven't yet completed the game so any tactics and level discussion can you still use spoilers please :)

You can view it that way I guess. I also viewed it as a complete game changer but
I'm a little surprised you didn't feel good being able to stand up to a monster that has stalked you for the past 20 hours.

I thought they implemented it just right.
