Alien: Isolation...

Anyone been watching The Mighty Jingles play through videos ?

I don't think I can link or put them up due to the odd colourful metaphors used but he's decent bloke, Alien fan and they are quite good.

There is NO. WAY. he will complete the game carrying on like that. He'll either get a heart attack, or eventually give up :) The game doesn't ever let up.

You need to really zen all that stuff out.

I finally met the alien for the first time and nearly pooped myself. I feel so helpless! Loving this game but I have to play it in short stints to keep from getting to stressed lol.

Was on TS last night and just as I flicked on my flashlight while crawling through a dark vent Icex21 (who was playing Mordor at the time) shouted as he failed a challenge in perfect time with me hitting the flashlight key and I very nearly had a brown pants moment.

That's what I've been doing. I went through 7 missions while the wife & son were away and now just doing the off 30 mins here and there to keep the experience and impressiveness fresh!

Ok...first time in my life i've ever shouted out loud at something making me jump...

Escaping the med centre with the evac alarms going off, finally make it to the exit, cut scene starts, Alien drops down in front of me.

Literally jumped back in my chair and shouted to the point my missus ran upstairs as she thought i'd had an accident.

Not alone there matey I almost gave birth .....:;)

I'm seeing so many folks on YT playing this, sprinting around and moaning they're getting killed all the time, real common sense check needed for some of these guys.

Well you called it and he's quit heheh, but I'm gutted as I really enjoyed his commentary and knowledge of the films.

Not really a mod, just a tweak ;).

Jingles has bottled his lets play, a shame as I was really enjoying his play through, I think getting killed in a vent was the last straw for him :D.

/snip YT

If the video has swearies in best remove it before enforced holiday ensues! :)

Game completed!

So Xenos can survive in space now apparently? That kind of spoiled the ending IMO, all for the sake a climatic ending

Soooooooo, been a few days... What did I miss!

I completed the game in 18.1 hours with exploration time thrown in though I haven't unlocked all the achievements. I played on a mixture of Hard, Medium and Easy. I don't have the patience of dying too many times and reloading through certain segments but that was only early in the game before I was made aware that the flame thrower makes the Alien run away and next time it sees it he pauses and hesitates.... The ending raises a few interesting questions but overall I felt pleased and felt my £25 was put to good use. I also bought the Lone Survivor DLC for £2.93 on STEAM and completed that in 20 ish minutes in the first play session (died once): Got a video up on Youtube in glorious 3440x1440 of that play but can't post it here as there is a single low breath swear from Ripley, no doubt someone will snitch me up for that again...

Again, felt my money was put to good use. What the game did over the course of 18 hours the Lone Survivor DLC did during those 20 minutes. I actually felt more amped with adrenaline playing that than the campaign lol.

I'm a bit stuck on the Crew Expendable DLC though, how do I do it! I flame the Xeno in the vent once he catches up with me but unlike the same situation outside of a vent he doesn't pause or run away, just keeps charging.

DLC is rolling hard sixes all over the shop :S

Survivor Mode will follow once I've done CE.

I used a noisemaker to attract the alien into the airlock, then sprinted to the button to try and lock it in. You need to wait around the corner and have the alien in exactly the right spot to do it though, or it'll see you and theres no place to hide at all.
