Aliens : Colonial Marines - FPS ( They're back ! )

I am the biggest Aliens fan there is. I wish this game didn't exist. :(

Same goes for AvP3... but I bought into that crap. Not this time.

I just want a game that is the same as Left 4 Dead but set in the Aliens Universe.

Is that too much to ask for?

Isn't that Esacpe Mode? From the videos of someone playing it for 14 minutes, it seems to be pretty much like it.

On a other note, I still can't get my key registered on Steam but instead I have a email message that cost me £26.99 to have. I don't know if it's Greemangaming or Steams fault, but whatever it is. It be the last thing I buy from GMG since they provided me with the Key. Should had just bought it on Steam.

Really angry, but I did make like 150 certs on Planetside 2 for around about 450+ all together. :)

Ok, I'll admit it, I quite like this, it's fun :p

I'm running it maxed out at 1920x1200 and it doesn't look anywhere near as bad as some of the gameplay vids on youtube (Although most of them were the 360 version which looked horrible imho). Sure, it isn't the next Crysis engine, but I found it very atmospheric doing the first level and I'd put the graphics on a par with the CoD games perhaps.

As a fan of the movies it is great how close they've managed to get it so far, I've also jumped a few times, but I'm a big wimp when it comes to these games anyway. It has been frightening enough for me so far. The sound effects are awesome, and god I just love the tension when using the scanner.

Problems I can see so far though are mainly that the enemies seem to ignore the friendly AI and go straight for you as the player most of the time, and sometimes the way the Aliens moves doesn't look quite right (setting aside the obvious horrible animation on the .gif from earlier in the thread).

Maybe it's just my low expectations, or maybe I'm making excuses because I just like playing Aliens games, but it is no where near as bad as I had feared, although I am only an hour in lol.

What im saying is....when you pre load the game you cannot select a drive to install - once the content was released the game was installed onto my C drive.
 
Review embargo is up. I hope not too many have purchased this. As expected it is awful. Doesn't treat the IP with the respect it deserves.

I never ever listen to any review sites as I disagree with them all, I much prefer to judge a product by myself then be leaded by other peoples views. Like IMDB so many films are rated 3/4 but some of them actually turn out to be better then some so called blockbusters.

Of course it is all subjective, but when the general opinion (including "gamers" playing the game over the weekend due to street date slipping) is the game being technically poor there could be something in it.

This. Playing the campaign and enjoying it, as i knew i would. Graphics looking nice at 1440p. Its not battlefield 3 quality, but i knew it was never going to be. Add some Morphological AA on from Catalyst Control Centre and its nice and smooth looking. Game also uses FXAA btw.
 
AvP 2010 was pretty damn good. Enjoyable 13 hours of gameplay. Marine campaign was the best one.
I had high hopes for this one, the potential was there, but Gearbox just is not talented studio. Borderlands was boring, so is this. Although back when they made Half Life Opposing Force, some talented people had to be there back then.
