Aliens : Colonial Marines - FPS ( They're back ! )

The graphics are very poor but it's probably one of the games strongest points.

What makes this so terrible is the whole game design. Everything from the story, campaign levels to AI just feels rushed and half *****. An Aliens based game has huge scope for some great gameplay mechanics and epic moments but this lacks any ambition, imagination or polish.
 
Can't be bothered with single player anymore but decided to give multiplayer a go today, persevered with being a stupid slap happy alien for the first round (only enjoy playing as a marine) played a round as a marine then couldn't be bothered, not even finding multiplayer fun anymore :(

I did however fire up Planetside 2 for the first time ever and spent 3 hours on it! also had a few rounds of Blacklight Retribution both these games are free to play and far more enjoyable than A:CM. Planetside to is amazing :)

this is why i only stick to games that have great devs behind the scenes now who dont talk bs just to sell you there next game ;)

I'm pretty shocked that Steam are using the promo images to advertise this game?

They are so far off the in game graphics its pretty much false advertising.
 
i think it says a lot about this game that i can run it on a 4 year old macbook running win7 on bootcamp...

core2duo ~2.8GHz, 8Gb ram and a 9400m :D
 
Well finally loaded this up after preordering...

First level only so far... The atmosphere isnt that bad, but the motion tracker always helps for that. The sounds are straight from aliens, including the music, so a few extra points for that too.

The bad... Alien animations are well ropey. Backing off after a few hits then moving forward again? Seemingly ineffective pulse rifles, alien targeting in general of you and team mates, and the bug where at the end of the level the door was closed and wouldn't open to the airlock.

So much potential, but yet so many flaws, and simple ones too that should have been picked up on. In so many ways this is a console game, and still isn't a patch on AVP 2.

This is great news. Hopefully they can make the lighting look like the demo of the game that was shown. I will 100% buy it then - maybe at a reduced price and donate some to xyz modders community
 
Nope you pirate the game and give the money that you would spend on the game to those guys doing the texture stuff etc. They are the ones that deserve it, not gearbox/sega :p

Not bothering with this game currently as quite frankly, fighting soldiers in an alien game ****s me off big time! If I want that then I'll play a game that is far better for that i.e. BF 3 or COD games. Besides might as well wait anyway since these guys seem to be doing a much better job of polishing this turd :D :p

I have been looking forward to this for what seems like for ever ... As most I loved AVP 2 and yes I too didn't like playing it in the dark as it used to scare the **** out of me :) this is another fail for the PC gamer it's like we are being punished for not play games only on an Xbox or a PS3 ...........

WTF are they playing at I have good money I want to spend on PC games and all we get is this crap....

Every one should return the game stating its not fit for purpose and get a refund then but it back when it's £5 and and send £20 to the mod guys to fix it then we will get what we should have got.....

Very disappointed just in case you didn't get the message :-(
