Aliens : Colonial Marines - FPS ( They're back ! )

Luverly :D Alien and Aliens are two of the best sci-fi movies ever developed :D Totally love the atmos in aliens and yes, Hicks was the coolest :D Always kinda wished the aliens had charged the APC and we would have got to see its firepower :D Aliens 3 and 4 dont exist for me.

I was thinking about this the other day - imagine if you ended up as one of the crew in the second film, would you even want to carry the motion tracker? The noise it makes just makes things worse in my opinion - there's no pinpoint accuracy to it, you just know that something is x metres away and closing. The noise it makes too, higher and higher pitched beeping... urgh.

I think I'd just rather turn around and face one of them (and die) ala Dallas than know they were coming. :(

Oh man, I can't wait for this one. Aliens has got to be one of my favourite movies of all time. The best quotes have already been listed but the whole movie is essentially a collection of memorable one-liners!
 
I'm still a bit undecided on this, I'm going to wait a proper preview (unless I missed one somewhere already?) as they can still get it all horribly wrong.
 
Aliens is one of my favourite films and the Aliens universe is one of my favourite fictional 'worlds'. Can't wait for this. :cool:

I heard James Cameron was considering making an Aliens sequel that ignored 3 and 4 but for some reason it didn't happen. :/

Oh man, the avp games were epic, any game with aliens in it has the potential to be super if done properly, hopefully they will have a mix of situations where you either have to resist a horde of aliens all scurrying down a corridor towards you and tense moments of individual aliens stalking you and jumping out at you. A great franchise to have rights too I think.

Hope they dont do the quick time events where u have to button bash during a cinematic, they're annoying.

Agreed. I didn't like Alien 3 very much for many reasons when I was younger. However, after seeing the Directors Cut from the Alien Quadrilogy boxset, it changed my opinion of the entire film.

I am a fan of all the films to be honest. Aliens is, of course, perfect and if I could only own and watch one film, Aliens would be it.

Roll-on Colonial Marines! Don't **** it up, GearBox! Please??!

I remember reading a scifi mag a while ago claiming something along those lines. James Cameron was rumoured to have written a draft script for a fifth Alien film and had discussed it with Sigourney Weaver, who liked the script and was keen on the idea. Unfortunately, Fox wanted to make too many changes to the script and were being difficult. I'll try and find the original source.

Come on Fox, FFS. James Cameron has delivered time and time again. Trust the man, he knows his stuff. Let him make another kick-ass Alien film!!!
 
I think theres too much to live up to if he ever did get around to making another movie. Its a bit like the terminator movies. The 4th movie ruined the series (although if the movie was stand alone I could probably appreciate it more but its not) and don't get me started on the horrific avp movies
 
Isn't there another Alien game in development? A role player or something. I remember an article in PCZ some months back describing this and another game.
 
I remember reading somewhere that Sigourney Weaver would be up for another Aliens movie because of the new Indiana Jones movie (made her think she's not that old) and she's also been doing voices for computers in ships for a while, Futurama, Wall-E. However until this hollywood thing they call 'AVP' is over they dont have a motive for an Aliens movie from what I remember reading...
