Alienware announces the AW2725DF and AW3225QF (worlds first 4k 240hz and worlds first 1440p 360hz QD-OLED monitors - launches January 2024)

It interferes with the monitor's settings, like controlling the lighting and stuff, though this can be reset. Most of all it installs various Dell and Alienware services that run in the background, and it does all this without any consent. So yeah that's a big NO.

Oh you know what time of the year it is? It's AWCC uninstallation time because just now I noticed the power LED on the QF was on, strange.... This can only mean Dell have auto installed AWCC once again...

When will this end! I am genuinely going to just get the new 39" LG 5120x2160 when it's available and end this saga. It's being announced at CES this month, don't care about the 45" model that's bendy etc, I just want 39" 5160x2160 240Hz.

I'm waiting for a 34 inch 5120x2160 and I will get the Asus version, drop Alienware like the **** it is

According to display ninja, 5120x2160 OLEDs are not arriving until the end of 2025

However these details are just for w-OLED and I'd prefer QD-OLED, the colours are just so much better

The annoyance is that outside of the AWCC constantly installing, Dell/Alienware are one of the best brands to go with in the UK because of how great they are when it comes to service/warranty and resolving any issues.

In comparison, whilst I love my LG monitor and only had one issue in the 3 or so years with my 27GP850 they were a bit of a pain to get things sorted with.

ASUS does the same thing on my laptop.

I do a clean install of windows. No bloat etc. It still installs the bloat. ASUS crate or some rubbish. I uninstall and also disable the services. Couple of days later I check, the services running again

Yeah. Much rather Dell and deal with AWCC than potentially deal with another companies warranty.

Mrk forgets howmany replacements he has had from Dell, he would never get that service from any other company imo.

I uninstalled the software/CC and then watched it pop up and reinstall it straight away after a reboot.

Although currently I've got the vertical line issue appearing which isn't going away (yet) after several pixel refreshes and one panel refresh. Usually the pixel refresh gets rid of it, but no dice today.

Just like this thread on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/OLED_Gamin...e_these_vertical_lines_on_alienware_aw2725df/
