alienware AW3418DW Availability in the UK?

I'm also now in two minds, I've been told there's some sort of delay due to a parts shortage but they won't tell me how long this will delay dispatch. I've already waited 4 weeks.

What other options are out there though.... for the price there doesn't seem like much... unless you're willing to wait another 6-10 months for new releases.

I had an Acer Predator XB271HU, which i was broadly v happy with, until 9 months in it randomly broke. Acer refused to repair it (claiming it was my damage - theyve been an absolute nightmare), so i was just very resistant to buying the same thing again (well the Asus equivalent - **** Acer) - it felt a bit less galling to opt for an upgrade, in the guise of the Alienware (the extended warranty was also reassuring after the Acer debacle).

Delivery times/ worries that UW is a bit weird in practice for gaming/cost quandaries are giving me second thoughts though. Just doesnt seem to be much of an option apart from going backwards.

I called up on Monday to chase. Without any further comms from Dell I've just now received a delivery email from a company called Syncreon. Never heard of them, phoned up and the girl was Irish, could hear other Irish accents in the background too.

Rescheduled delivery for Monday (ironically the exact date it was due to be delivered). And I've now just had an email from Dell telling me there are parts shortages, my despatch date is looking like 06/03/2018 (either theyre morons or that's an american date...) and do I want to cancel the order in favour of something that is available :confused:

Syncreon mentioned that i would receive an invoice a couple of weeks later, but I'm gonna hold out hope of getting a freebie here!
 
Also, this is a bit random, but I note the monitor seems to be in stock at Very - presume that would mean you wouldnt get the super Dell warranty stuff?

I'm not sure the warranty would even exist considering the level of stock they have.

@D3K I was told upon my order that Syncreon would delivery the panel. So if they have it I'd believe it. Looks like our joint fears about Dell being a bit of a bottomless pit however may be true if they're claiming it wont arrive until 3 June?!

Yes. The idea of being able to trade it back would rely on the stock existing I'd imagine?

The prime issue for most of us here is that we got deals ranging from 10% to 20% off the price. Waiting a further four weeks from getting it is worth it for over a £100 saving.

Although not sure it's even going to arrive at this point. Shall hopefully get good news from D3K!

No judemann hasn't been in the last 4 pages of discussion. His original dates (from his posts) were "My order says 21st March ordered on 19th Feb"

So in fairness it appears on track the moment with him and D3K getting their orders coming now. Maybe it isn't as bad as it all seems. Haha.
