alienware AW3418DW Availability in the UK?

The warranty is with the retailer now not the manufacturer and I would much prefer the Alienware but if they keep delaying and delaying dispatch then that's an issue... I have waited since 22nd Feb and still no guarantee when they will dispatch...

The main problem I have is if it doesn't arrive before 2nd April I can't take delivery... Too big to fit in my car so can't collect from depot, no safe place to leave it, don't know neighbours as new estate so wouldn't trust it to be delivered to them and I can't get time off work again until June.... I'm kinda stuffed really...

I have my heart set on a 34" curved g-sync monitor so have two to pick from.... one I could have with guaranteed next day delivery or wait for an unlimited time frame and possibly wont even be able to take delivery :(

The last I heard from Dell was this:
"I'm still awaiting for a confirmation from my team about the order shipment. Looks like there is huge shortage, trying my best to get it resolved."

After hearing about how great Dell are for customer service I'm a little underwhelmed and dissapointed.

Their customer service is trash but the warranty is good. The worst customer service experience I ever had was with Dell. FOr me its the price, if I can get this monitor to my door for 880gbp then I am willing to wait until the date they gave me at least.

Acer's customer support is so garbage. I had the Acer Predator XB271HU, randomly broke after 8 months, sent back, they claimed it was my damage - no evidence to that effect, were really rude, and gave a repair price greater then the moniitor's current RRP. I'll never touch them with a barge pole again.

That's why now if I buy anything for more than £100 I use my credit card, gives you a massive amount more protection. If something goes wrong they get involved.

Technically the retailer you purchased it from was liable to replace/repair/refund you not Acer... the warranty is with the retailer if you purchased in the UK

AFAIK only for the first year.

Ah good call, I used my credit card too. Is it too late to get in touch with them?
Purchase was from amazon and all the returns type options had vanished at that point.

Just a general rule for Amazon is to mind how many orders you return, they have an automated system to close down accounts if they're making too much of a lost, and it is a hassle to get these accounts reopened.

Dell Customer Service is absolutely horrific! After waiting since the 22nd Feb they have pushed back my dispatch even further.... they are estimating another 4 weeks at least...

I've just cancelled my order and bought an Acer X34P from Amazon for £849.99 I'll take my chances especially as Amazon returns are brilliant if there's any issues. Its the same screen anyway...

This is becoming a little concerning! Awaiting another email confirmation. Tbh if it's going to be another month I'd wish they'd just tell me so I can cancel rather than keep running it about different departments.

Shame really as the monitor looks ace but waiting 2 months for it when there are other alternatives is daft. :(

This is why in the end I bought the Acer X34P, I'm just fed up with being messed about and they are the same panel. Why wait for an indefinite period of time when I could be enjoying it immediately... oh and the X34P is substantially cheaper in the Amazon Easter sale :D

Took the dive myself. Can't handle support not being able to provide actual dates. If it was a cheap product I'd take it but over a month of waiting and not knowing? Ha. Simple result.

Hmm I might just do the same, how do you know they're the same panel?

Exact same spec and from reports, it's an LG panel I believe
This is what I've read multiple times, and must admit, starting sprouting myself! Could be a case we're wrong but the only differential between them is the 8bit + FRC which is software (from my understanding).

Honestly I would get the Dell if it was in stock, and pay a small premium for it, as their warranty is far superior. However with delays of now potentially May it's a little bonkers and I don't think the warranty isn't worth anything if they can't even fulfil existing orders from mid February.
