What would the X34 be like compared to my LG 34UC97-P (3-4 years old)? I would gain 40 hz minimum and G Sync. Would it be worth the cost of an upgrade?
Yes. I thought it's 100Hz but OCs to 120Hz?The LG is 60Hz right? The new X34P is a 120Hz monitor.

Do you have to do anything to get it to run at 120Hz or just it automatically happen?Correct

Not sure how exactly its on Acer, but on Alienware you simply togle setting between 100-120Hz in 5Hz increments (each change restart/power cycle monitor). There appears to be a setting in the menu https://youtu.be/EvZq0RiS1h8?t=4m24s
anything over native 100Hz is not guaranteed, however I did not read single post about any LG 100Hz pannel not being able to reach it.Is 120Hz guaranteed? Can you claim under warranty if 120Hz fails?
It's mental the distribution or lack thereof of this monitor from the multinational DELL. Someone should be fired somewhere along the line.
Have a class-conscious product with a firm 6 months or more advantage over the competition that is simply not capitalised on is a farce.
Yep 100% the DW. They're selling the HW version for 588 at the moment pre-chat discount.
GL Dell wed site says 6 weeks plus for it to get back in stock.
