alienware AW3418DW Availability in the UK?

That price would have finally persuaded me to part with cash! Continuing to wait for the LG before making a decision on which to get...

Mines backlight is only an issue in a tiny part of the bottom corners, What surprised me most is how much more noticeable the IPS "Glow" is than the 2713HM I have but hopefully calibrating it properly improves that

Just got an email from Dell offering me another 5% discount as it was so late. I thought they weren't gonna bother as I have received my order. Nice little bonus! I think the final price for me is now £880.

A different cable seems to have done the trick - thanks for the tip :)

The backlight bleed is kind of annoying, but I think I can live with it. Better at the bottom corners than the top. Hardly ideal for a £900+ screen tho...

What cable were you using when you had the problem? The original one that came with the monitor? and what did cable did you change to?

I've just unboxed mine and the screen seems to blink very randomly too. Im connected using the supplied DisplayPort cable.

Any ideas? :(

I've tested a couple of games now on the monitor. The only time I've noticed a flicker (in fact the whole screen was blinking on and off) was when I was playing Crysis 3 at max settings. Turning off the anti-aliasing seemed to solve the issue (or I was able to keep AA but reduce overclock to 115Hz). But I've not had the issue in any other game like GOW4 and GTAV at 120Hz and I'm using the displayport cable that came with the monitor. I have got backlight bleed as mentioned before in the lower two corners but it is minimal!

The one I was using was the one supplied. I switched it to another dp cable I had (can't remember exactly where it came from), and the flickering stopped. Today I switched back to the original cable, and there was no flickering. So maybe it was just that the cable wasn't seated perfectly? Either way it's back up and running with the original cable. I hope you get your flicking issue sorted too!

The Acer X34P is £800, the AW34 is £1000 does the AW34 ever drop in price? I'd prefer Dell warranty TBH. I really shouldn't be looking because I need a new PC first :/

Got my al3814dw for £860 got it for £950 via dell chat then another £90 off for late delivery they quoted 6 weeks but after 5 expected delivery date fails finally arrived at 13 weeks.
Led lights not working so i am now waiting for an advanced replacement foc. The screen is amazing i think inside something is not connected as not one light is working. Its a lot better than my samsung CHG90 49" display i am hoping that samsungs newer version of the CHG90 with 1440p will hit the right spot.

I got the alienware as the samsung 32.9 can be a bit of a pain at times so wanted a 21.9 as well

Received my monitor yesterday and in total I paid £835 for it.
I definitely won the panel lottery as I have 0 back light bleed and 0 dead pixels. Very happy with the monitor, the delay in shipping worked in my favour too as another £129 was knocked off the price.
