Hope Hazard goes to City and not Utd, otherwise City could go in for Bale. Although in saying that they would no doubt over pay for him, and maybe we could do a player exchange and work Adam Johnson into the deal as I'm sure he will be surpluss to requirements next season.

haha what? Why would Bale going to City be better than Hazard? Bale is off to Man Utd anyway

I assumed he was a Tottenham fan...

Yeah Spurs fan. Wouldn't want to lose Bale, there is the possibility that Bale would be on City's shopping list if they miss out on Hazard. As for Utd they don't need wingers, if they were to take anyone it would be Modric, but I would have thought both are our of their price range.

Oh I see, even still, he'll be leaving so it doesn't really matter who to

Not sure why he will be leaving? Levy set his stall last year with Modric. Bale won't be leaving this year regardless of the result tomorrow unless a massive offer comes in which only City can offer, he is under contract. I can see Levy selling Modric though, another year older and his price will only decrease from here on in. It was also clear through his performances this year he wasn't fully committed.

Things change though when players want to leave. Both will want to leave this summer, next summer at the absolute latest.

Once upon a time Bale and Man Utd looked a perfect match, Bale being Giggs' replacement now with City's money I'm not so sure. Plus what has Bale got once his pace has gone and he can no longer kick the ball half way up the pitch and run after it? :p

"I hate living in Manchester, it's a horrible place, I have to spend most my time there because I bench warm at £170k per week. What makes it worse is that with all that money I can't even buy attractive hookers as it's Manchester and I'm not like Rooney and don't like the over 55's...

Please let me come play in London, I don't want to take a pay cut though. I do really like Spurs, you're more likely to give me money and let me play. London has much more attractive women too, I just need the big wages to ensure they come back home with me."

Think that about covers it.

Oh I don't think Bale is particularly great, but as you say, I think they're a good match and I can see it happening. I doubt City will want Bale

Dont think Utd can afford Bale for a few years (given Young / Nani and Valencia), he still has a pretty lengthy deal with Spurs I seem to recall

(even without considering the £70m or so recently spent on debt repayments)

So that Hazard 'rumour' was nonsense:

Eden Hazard's future will be decided after Lille hold talks with Manchester City and Manchester United next week.

No formal offers have been made but the Premier League rivals are both interested in signing Hazard.

Belgium forward Hazard, 21, recently said he would be playing in Manchester next season.

Lille are unwilling to enter negotiations until after Sunday's final Ligue 1 match against Nancy, although they cannot finish higher than third.

The French club want to strike a deal on their terms and maximise the return on one of Europe's leading talents.

Hazard has scored 17 goals in 37 league games this season, with a further 16 assists, and featured in all six of Lille's Champions League group games.

He scored his first goal for Belgium, was named Ligue 1 player of the year for the second successive campaign, and has also been linked with Chelsea, Tottenham and Real Madrid.

But Premier League champions City and runners-up United have emerged as the only realistic candidates, and both have been in dialogue with Lille for some time.

Les Dogues are in no rush to complete Hazard's sale but accept he will leave this summer.

Meanwhile, they also expect contact from Liverpool next week to discuss the future of midfielder Joe Cole, who has spent the season on loan from Anfield.

If there's a direct bidding war between Man Utd and Man City, City will get him.

Optimistically, I'd hope the fee is around £30m~ and he comes to United on a slightly lower wage because he isn't that bothered about money and wants to improve the biggest club side on the planet. Unfortunately, his personality suggests otherwise, so I think we'll lose out.

I can't imagine he would come to united. He has been buggering about for months now with his "I'll be in the premier league" then "I'll be in Manchester".

If he was that bothered which of the two sides he was going to I think he would have handled it a bit differently. If he doesn't care which he goes to then the wages and fee will win it for City.

I did see something strange earlier though. Can't remember who it was said that City would sell Aguero this summer but that sounds a little unlikely. City will get another striker, midfielder and defender at least but I doubt they would lose Aguero.
