Re: this Kagawa business. If he's really good (I'm not going to pretend I religiously watch the Bundesliga, so I don't know either way!) why haven't we heard about teams such as Real and Barca going for him? Shirley they'd love a good player on the cheap, who they can use to sell shed loads of shirts in Japan/the rest of Asia? Obviously they don't have midfield voids to fill... but I'd've thought a very good player from Asia would have them salivating!

When both those teams have probably got the best collection of CM's already bar none - why do they need to worry about that position to start with?

I don't think he would get into the Barca / Real sides that regularly if at all. I don't think hes ones of the top 5 or 6 in the world but he would improve us quite a lot I think.

Asia still loves the premier league so I think that also helps.

That doesn't mean Real and Barca don't want to market themselves there . It's not just them, either - no one else is tempted by a quality player who's available for ~£8m? It seems too good to be true.

Obviously he'll now sign and be player of the year, but it just seems weird!

Its not particularly strange. Both Barca and Real have plenty of midfielders and I'm sure they have some young talent in the wings waiting for an opportunity. Those fringe players with potential might leave if they feel they are being superseded.

They don't need him, he probably wouldn't want to be a bit part player and he has said he likes the premier league. In all honestly I can't see any reason why they would try to buy him. The asian market wouldn't suddenly change to favour spanish football. There isn't a lot of glory to be had playing 10 games a season as a bit part for Real whereas in another team he might be a focal point for the team.

Maybe Kagawa is one of the few to have realised that Real and Barca are basically graveyards for talented young players.

The top spanish clubs youth policy seems to be to send out a lot of promising youngsters to other top clubs in the hope that they will develop and want to "come home" a la Fabregas.

What's your point? I can't remember the details of minor Manyoo signings which happened years and years ago - if there's a point, fancy furnishing me with the details?

Read your post. As far as I know, Park was bought as he was the best Korean player about at the time and united were looking to expand their dominance of the asian market. I don't think he was ever touted as a future star or particularly in demand elsewhere.

They're not the only ones, though. No other Premier League team is keen? No German team? No PSG? No Malaga? Etc. Meh!

Mainly because of that, it'll be interesting to see how he does, wherever he goes.

Well it's a DM article so take it with a pinch of salt, but according to this Arsenal are also interested:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2142781/Arsenal-keen-Borussia-Dortmunds-Shinji-Kagawa.html

I remember reading another article earlier that said that Chelsea and City had expressed an interest too but I can't find it now.

or will he be another nzogbia.

looks awesome at wigan because the rest of the team is lower standard.

Fair point.

Zogbia was good at Newcastle though, but he got waylaid by thinking about his wallet over his football (though he is not alone in that these days in football)

Moses got lucky towards the end of the season, he played the same way all season. One of the main reasons Wigan were in so much trouble was because Moses took all the shots himself all season and his passing is poor, vision meh and he's selfish as hell.

So just because it paid off, JUST in a short run of games doesn't mean it will for ages.

It reminds me of Arsenal losing last year to West Brom, people went on(from the highlights mostly) about Nasri getting two goals and being awesome, when it was infact Nasri being selfish and utterly attrocious for 70 mins before his two late goals, that wasted so many chances earlier in the game.

Ultimately guys like those will have the odd good game, and the odd run, but will overall have bad seasons where they aren't good enough. Nasri got 10 goals, against not many teams(or good teams) and was awful from say November through May. Moses has done the opposite, though if you watched the 90 mins in the last 3-4 games, he messed up SO many chances, shot appaullingly badly most of the games, and refused to set up other people in massively better positions over and over again.

Lots of reports coming in on Twitter that Eden Hazard will sign for Man Utd and a possible announcement tomorrow.

Some BBC / ITV journalists have been reporting this, as well as normal twitter users, ive been following this on Twitter for hrs, and the tweets are carrying on through the night

Why i find this hard to believe is the fee is a reported £45 Million.

I guess we will find out soon
