Sinclair deal done at 6.2m apparently. Very happy with that price.

Brian Marwood apparently at the Napoli game as well, I wonder if that means Dzeko is off and Cavani is coming in!!111

I don't think strikers is an issue at City, the way Liverpool totally bossed your midfield should be looked at. Maybe some top wingers are needed to replace Nasri and Milner.

City need proper winger (s) as well if they're going to try that 3-5-2 type thing again, Milner and Kolarov are not attacking enough wingers. So I think he'd do well there.

What on earth does everyone keep banging on about, this is a 5-3-2 with two wingbacks, not 3 cb's and 5 midfielders, its 3 cb's, 2 heavily defensive minded wingbacks, 3 central mids and 2 strikers. That is the formation, in that formation you have defensive wingbacks, you don't put two full on wingers there.

Milner/Koralov aren't even close to good enough, Clichy is, Richards could certainly do it as he's great bombing forwards. Nasri didn't play on the wing today and realistically silva/Nasri both drift in and play as withdrawn strikers who occasionally drift out wide, today Nasri played infront of Yaya and De Jong.

It was a pathetic formation and, Richards I think is injured, Clichy I wasn't aware he was, Lescott was on the bench and should have started. THe more I see that Silva, Lescott, Clichy didn't start and look at who did start it feels like a pathetic desparate attempt by Mancini to loosen the purse strings before the transfer window ends.

That formation simply won't work, the CB's aren't used to it and haven't played it significantly before, the central midfield trio didn't work in the slightest, wing backs and the defensive duties they have will hurt City badly because Silva and Nasri are ineffective on the wings and because you've switched a full on attacking position for a midfield/defensive position, you can't fit Silva/Nasri into the team. Personally I think both are too lightweight and too prone to going missing and Nasri especially doesn't provide enough guile to win games. Combination of Silva, Nasri and Yaya two passers and one very powerful runner gives them good overall strength moving forwards, just Nasri.... that was never in a million years going to work.

It isn't an issue but Dzeko doesn't fit our team well and Mancini doesn't want to go in to this season just with 3 strikers if Dzeko was to leave.

Whilst we are missing Barry we will struggle in midfield, I really cannot tell you how much of a difference he makes. When he is back our midfield will be back to its usual self. A fully fit Silva helps as well.
We are looking at Martinez though still and something may yet happen.

We don't need wingers because we don't use them. However, we need someone like Sinclair so we can mix it up if need be.

Clichys wife just had a baby so he missed out, Lescott isn't fully fit either and Richards is still injured. Hasn't been seen in training for a while I don't think.

With a fully fit and at our strongest 3-5-2 does work DM. You don't think it does but I think it does and would.

Liverpool had so many counters where they had players over that City got lucky, maybe 352 will work when you have all the correct players out there but Mancini may need to re-think things, in the end he won the league with four at the back, if it ain't broke...

5 goals conceded in the opening two games doesn't sound good considering your defensive record last season! You need full backs like Alves and Alba who can run all day long and can get back quick enough to help out.

Rumours floating around Fulham have agreed a fee with Sunderland to sell Dempsey. Medical due this weekend. Could be crap, but would be hilarious if true. Champions League football he wanted  :p

I thought he wanted to go to Liverpool?

He did, it was verbally agreed pre-season, but they didn't follow through with a bid so his head was turned and he had already told people at Fulham he was leaving (including Jol) hence the complaint to Liverpool. Not sure if Rodgers was involved or not. Imagine Liverpool won't bid or will have to spend more to even get near him now with the embarrassment involved.

He didn't want CL then :p

Well Richards and Clichy are our Alves and Alba ;) :D

Against QPR we will be back to our normal team I am sure. We took a risk hoping it would throw Liverpool. Thankfully we got a point really.

I don't know what's happened to our whole team never mind our defence. We have just lost all our shape.

If fletcher is worth ~£14.5m then Dempsey must be near RvP money!

Some daft fees going on this season. Oh dear big Sam.

Arsenal are now after Cabaye.

Really hope we don't sell him. Even if he has been off par the first too games, I hope that's just because he isn't match fit

Haha 'Partnership Agreement' master negotiator Levy has, after haggling all summer managed to get Real up from 30m to 30m and a friendly pat on the head.

Watching the RM game last night, you can see how they want/need Modric so badly. Ozil just ain't cutting it anymore. I can see Ozil and Modric fighting for the same spot this season. I can see Modric playing deeper but not Ozil and if Jose wants Modric in a more advanced role, that leaves Ozil on the bench.

I thought they played 4-4-2 against Southampton?

It was more of a 4-2-3-1, very forward pressing with the 2 full backs trying to bomb it past the 3 midfielders in behind the main striker.

It's all 4-4-2 with different player roles though.

Biggest joke of the day from Steve Kean, Blackburn apparently have bid 4m for Lambert... (apparently with Goodwillie going the other way) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2193985/Blackburn-bid-Rickie-Lambert.html

Almost 100% sure this either made up or a fan appeasing nonsense bid as I have no idea what Blackburn think they can offer Lambert over us (and for that matter why Goodwillie is even anywhere near good enough for the prem in the first place)

Oh right, yeah 4 at the back, left and right back pressing forwards and Rodwell tracking back to cover.

Didn't work because Rodwell is really not quite the player fifa/fm has made him out to be, which is why I'm guessing they tried 3 at the back like Wigan :(
