So have Real paid less than his market value or is £33 million his actual market value? So confused after reading about different market values all summer.

Watching the RM game last night, you can see how they want/need Modric so badly. Ozil just ain't cutting it anymore. I can see Ozil and Modric fighting for the same spot this season. I can see Modric playing deeper but not Ozil and if Jose wants Modric in a more advanced role, that leaves Ozil on the bench.
I think he'll play alongside Alonso/Khedira with Ozil further forward. No way they would replace Ozil's goals and assists with Modric's err...

35mil euros + 7mil in extras depending on performance. I think levy has just bought a barca shirt lol. Have spurs become a feeder club for real now?

Even with extras it doesn't meet the £40mil valuation, so much for that.

Biggest joke of the day from Steve Kean, Blackburn apparently have bid 4m for Lambert... (apparently with Goodwillie going the other way) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2193985/Blackburn-bid-Rickie-Lambert.html

Almost 100% sure this either made up or a fan appeasing nonsense bid as I have no idea what Blackburn think they can offer Lambert over us (and for that matter why Goodwillie is even anywhere near good enough for the prem in the first place)

:D This is as unrealistic as the rumour we were after Walcott but then I saw the link and realised that it'll be 100% nonsense. The Daily Mail must have the poorest success rate with transfers than any other newspaper. Abysmal reporters from a dreadful paper.

Seems like Ramirez is close! Needs to be sorted as it's exactly the type of player we need.
Also Fox needs replacing at left back. I think I said in the summer that he could be a liability in the Prem and in the 2 opening games he's been poor.

It's worth a laugh to see where they pluck some of these rumours from :D

I'v been not doing anything other than refreshing the internet for the best part of a week because of this Ramirez deal! Exactly the player I want as we desperately needed something more going forward against Wigan last weekend.

I am surprised we haven't sorted out a Fox replacement yet (or a buttner replacement after that fell apart) as he has looked properly out of his depth in the first 2 games. He's been found out about his abysmal defending so can't go forward making him pretty much redundant. Should give Shaw a bash if we don't sort it out as I get worried when people push down our right.

Modric has passed a medical. To be honest I don't think he was that impressive last season. I wonder where he shall play for RM... maybe this will open up for Kaka's loan deal to United. :D :D :D

Wenger does seem to want a creative midfielder, despite that being the only kind of midfielder we actually have, rather than just NOT picking a truly awful winger and proceeding to have the entire team play through said winger.

Twice we've started Gervinho and spent almost every minute trying to play through him despite his complete inability to provide a final ball, guess what Wenger playing into a dead end for 60-70minutes each game was a useless waste of time.

We've gotten Giroud incredibly little service, and Podolski has had a bit of the ball and driven at the goal but he's been playing as a centre forward for 2+ years rather than the winger he played at Bayern/Germany. In preseason against Cologne he looked fantastic but they were absymal and he spent most of the game way upfront anyway.

We should really be looking to play 4-4-2, stop playing Gervinho, much as I'm not a fan of Santos, he's better than Gibbs upfront, who couldn't cross to save his life. He has pace, sucks defensively but when he gets upfront he takes too long to do anything, doesn't attack the right back enough and the couple times he did the cross wasn't anything to talk about.

Our link up play wasn't right, the movement wasn't right. We bought two guys who worked afaik in mostly a front pair and are asking them both to play a different system, backed up by Gervinho, one of the most inept players in the league, that was never going to work well. Santi looks like he has a great eye for a pass but the movement around and infront of him was awful, and with passes to one whole side of the pitch being completely worthless.

Arsenal don't need a creative midfielder, especially as we are told we have Wilshire coming back. We need a DM, we need two fullbacks, we need a real winger, the last thing we need is a creative central mid.

Hell, Arshavin is still a fantastic player, 50 times the player Gervinho is. Same old Wenger, great players at the club, randomly drop the best and play the worst..... its shocking that tactic doesn't work.

Haha! Gervinho is terrible. What's worse is Arsenal opted to sign him over Hazzard that season.

Haha 'Partnership Agreement' master negotiator Levy has, after haggling all summer managed to get Real up from 30m to 30m and a friendly pat on the head.

lol so true. I really don't get it when people say that he is some kind of master negotiator. Every year it's the same old same old

'Over my dead body, he is not for sale at any price, Michael Carrick will rot in the reserves befor...............................signs for Man Utd in a £16m deal'

'Over my dead body, Dimitar Berbatov will rot in the reserves before we se..........................goes to Man Utd on the final day of the transfer window'

the only person he's ever said will rot in the reserves, was modric.

carrick was a very amicable departure. berbatov was an arse, very disrespectful to jol, wouldn't warm up etc the apologised to jol when he got sacked.

modric stated he didn't want to play for us again. how completely and utterly disrespectful to the club where he essentially made a name for himself.

he is very good player, spurs miss him but if he doesn't want to play for us. **** him. good bye. hope your career goes the same way berbatov's has.

Levy being a 'master negotiator' is just how Spurs fans comfort themselves when their best players leave.
