You can play for another team in the group/later stages than the team you played for in the prelim games, the only stipulation is that the original team gets eliminated from the competition before the group stage..... so that shouldn't be a problem either


In reality he'd do fine at Everton, or Liverpool, I can't see how he's worse than most of both teams rotation/back up midfielders. Either team would be stronger with him available than not. He'd make a more than decent rotation/backup player at a 3-8th club, and a pretty decent first team player for most teams lower than that.
