The only thing I remember Allen doing is hitting row Z with a shot.

Which was probably the only peice of play he could be criticised for.

He had a great game on Sunday, and his performance was possibly the only positive to take from the WBA game last week.

He also had a huge positive influence when coming on in the Hearts game midweek.

Looking like a great signing, and settling in unbeliveably quickly.

In Charlie Adam you have a squad player that is good enough for all the games bar the really big Prem clashes and the Champions League.
We really don't. Premiership players shouldn't need to take 3 or 4 touches on the ball but he gets caught in possession so often it's unreal. He simply doesn't have the touch, technique or ability to succeed in a top half team and most knew his days were numbered as soon as Rodgers arrived.

Edit: Looks like Spearing's on his way for £3 million. Limited player but always gives 100% and likes to get stuck in.

Rooneys in a Torres-esque slump

Torres looks to be getting out of his, but Rooney's injury isn't gonna help him at all. I don't see a value of anywhere near 50m.

Not sure which is worse; The Sun's article about a player who's not for sale not being wanted by anyone or MooMoo's evaluation that Rooney's 'slump' (slump being 1 game in which he didn't score) is the same as Torres' 2 year one :o

So Pardew is saying only 1 more signing will be made before the transfer window. Yet we are still strongly linked with 3 players; Debuchy, Douglas and Carroll.

Personally I'd want to see Debuchy, as of the 3, he would go straight into the starting 11. I also think Cabaye is becoming upset at the lack of effort made to sign him this summer, they are close friends, and I think Cabaye has persuaded Debuchy to sign for us and make it public to leave Lille.

Newcastle seem to have around £12m floating around, they offered this to Liverpool for Carroll. But I would much prefer to see that £12m spent on Debuchy (£6m) and Douglas (£4m) with £2m spare for a striker to cover Ba/Cisse.

^ Lansbury to Forest in a £1m deal.

Thoughts Gunners?

Being a Forest fan I'm pretty chipper about it.

The phrase is WHAT A PRICE!!!

Was good on loan at West Ham last year and clearly wants first team, which Arsenal seem to be unwilling to give him (I wanted him at Saints last year and this till we got Steven Davis for general excitement factor).

Should be excellent for you guys this year! (and for transfer multiples game he costs twice as much as Harding as is more than twice as good as Harding...)

dembele to spurs rumour getting mixed reactions. i know nothing about him, is he a playmaker? some saying he's not a patch on modric, some saying he's very underrated due to not being at a big club.

i'm quite sure he banged a few goals in last season, did he not?

dembele...
I find myself asking "what's 'wrong' with Moussa Dembélé?" He does look like a very good player on the MOTD highlights and analysis, and he certainly has a lot of fans. Earlier comparisons have tipped him to be "the next Patrick Viera" - I usually hate those the next... comparisons, but I thought at times watching the highlights "that could almost be Patrick Viera" and only found the original comparisons afterwards by googling the old stories from when he moved to Fulham.

Dembélé's agent spent a good part of spring and early summer talking up a move to Chelsea, but there was zero sign of reciprocal interest and the agent broadened his talk to Dembélé being a great signing for any Champions League club. Still nothing concrete in terms of top four clubs showing an interest, making enquiries or offers. So why not? I did some digging. If you can forgive this being a Chelsea fanzine article the analysis is quite interesting: http://www.weaintgotnohistory.com/2012/8/24/3264762/is-a-double-pivot-maestro-just-down-the-road
His dribbling is also what makes him so unique. Most deep playmakers have a wide passing range to their game but Demeble differs from the pack. Don't get me wrong, the man knows how to pass but he loves dribbling a lot more. Dembele is more of an "unorthodox" playmaker because his first instinct isn't to make the quick pass but instead to look up or around and run into open space. Most of his passes are short and in the final third. In some ways, he seems to me a bit like the unfinished Zidane during his time at Bordeaux. He was a fantastic dribbler and an effective player but he lacked the finishing pass and touch. Sadly, the same applies to Dembele.
Perhaps Dembélé is regarded as too limited in terms of passing or decision making? it is quicker to pass the ball than dribble it out, no matter how good the dribbler. There is no way Fulham would sell cheap and perhaps the two issues make him not worth the risk. That said, I believe fans of Spurs, Chelsea, Man Utd or Arsenal would be delighted to have him sign, and I think that he could add something to any of those midfield squads.

the problem i have, is can he dictate a games pace? that's what we're missing right now.

we are also in for willian, we already have sig and VDV none of these can bring the pace to a certain level when required and that's what we need. i'm not assuming dembele isn't good or can't pick a good pass but we've lost much more than that in modric. dembele seems physically stronger than modric but we've got parker and sandro for the physical stuff.

That's exactly what he can do. Dont expect many goals or assists but in terms of dictating play I think he's great, hardly ever wastes a pass, extremely comfortable in possession, strong as an ox (what a cliché), personally I think he's brilliant. Would hate for him to sign for Spurs.

He's strong, quick, good first touch and can run with the ball. Apparently his passing isn't that great but as that article points out with 4 of Lampard, Hazard, Mikel, Essien, Romeu, Oscar, Marin, Torres, etc. and the full backs shifting on too he's going to have no shortage of people wanting the ball. His passing isn't going to be that important if he can carry the ball out of deep midfield and then shift it to one of the forward/attack minded players.

Would hate him to sign for manyoo. Would like to see him at Chelsea. Surprised Arsenal aren't in for him but I think he'd be wasted.

To be honest, I think most Spurs fans (including myself) have been looking at things the wrong way. We're all looking for a Modric replacement, and I think we are looking at it from the wrong angle. Modric played well under Redknapp. AVB has the team playing a different way, I think he's looking for a player to play where Modric did, in a different way. Willian is a winger. Siggy and VDV are attacking mids. That leaves you with Sandro, Parker and Livermore - I'm not counting Jenas as he should be sold to the glue factory already. I think we're looking for a partner for Sandro, and that's why we're looking at M'Vila.

well spurs have money to spend, AVB has been given the instruction to spend.

lloris now seems to be at the personal terms stage, we've had a bid refused on willian. damiao now seems to be dead in the water, as does moutinho as they wont shift on their prices and know we have the cash.

dembele is a strong rumour. app he has a £15m release clause and is out of contract 2013 though fulham have an option to extend. £15m sounds like a fair price going off the reading up on him here and other places, with the concensus being he could really shine elsewhere (no disrespect to fulham, he sounds like he's a player who can cut it at euro level) but the rumour i find most appealing, is the possibility of us using either jenas or bentley as part of a deal! maybe even defoe. i reckon defoe could smash them in for fulham.

huddlestone did fail his medical at stoke. going to have another one this week app.
