Is this reported anywhere other than the daily mail? unless QPR are offering £250K/week I find this almost impossible to believe, Julio Cesar could probably have his pick of a quite a lot of Champions League level clubs

Julio Cesar is close to a move to QPR

Rob Green must feel absolutely awful. Sign for a new team and replaced after 2 games.

Should feel a right lemon, left West Ham to QPR for wages and nothing more. They told him he could only have a new contract if he took a pay cut (to something like 20k/week, which represents his ability). He said no and left to be replaced at his new club because he is a bit of a joke. Good in the champ, sadly he has become to error prone and complacent to be a top level keeper at the moment.

Wouldn't be surprised if they are paying him over 100k/week, they pay Green 40 which he just isn't worth (as West Ham pointed out last year). In fact most the transfers QPR have done are speculated to just either take over the old contract or give in massively to player demands.

Not really sure what people are tarting on about with Green, they get promoted with him playing and they want to renew his contract at a significantly lower wage while they've been throwing silly money around for ages. He went somewhere else for a better wage, he's missed international football, he's not making it to a champs league club, he got the best wage he could get and a contract to probably see out his career, bench or not it was a great move for him.

West Ham can hardly talk, they brought in Jussi who at one time was fantastic but has been no where near as good as he was at his best, last couple seasons he's been pretty poor and the week after Green made a goalkeeping fubar.... Jussi made an even worse one.

Cesar, likely BS as its easy to link anyone with QPR at the moment, I'll believe it when I see it basically. If not then the whole "Green is being replaced" joke becomes a "first team at QPR for a lot more than West Ham would give him" seems like nothing more than a good move.

He only made one mistake, yeah it wasn't good, keepers gain confidence and form as much as any other player. New team, new defence... and that defence that lined up infront of him wouldn't have inspired confidence in any keeper in the world. Personally I think he'll do just fine this season, not brilliant, not terrible. Reina, Jussi, de Gea, Hart, they've all made mistakes already, people just pile on when its a player/club they want a reason to laugh at.

He's better than most at liverpool

I think Adam gets a lot of unfair stick but I'm not sure about that. With the arrival of Sahin and Allen, he's at best 5th choice in CM but in Rodgers system (and in his eyes), he's 7th choice.

He's not a bad player but he was only ever going to be a short-term, cheap squad player.

I forgot about Sahin, and Allen looks to need a bit more time to settle.

In Charlie Adam you have a squad player that is good enough for all the games bar the really big Prem clashes and the Champions League. I don't see any value in shifting him on, unless he's on a daft wage which I wouldn't expect having come from Blackpool.

Can't believe nobody has snapped up Dembele yet if he can be had for £15-20 mil.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried about someone doing just that before Friday, with Modric now gone I'd bet Spurs go in for him and then Levy charges us triple the price in a few years if we want him

Wish I'd had the chance to really pay attention to the Liverpool/City game at the weekend as I'm intrigued as to whether Allen really is performing as well as Baz is saying :p

Because I couldn't really pay attention to the game the only thing I saw from Allen which was impressive was a reverse ball (I think to Suarez could have been to Borini) which led to a shot on goal

Borini missed a good chance but I thought it was Suarez that had laid it on! The only thing I remember Allen doing is hitting row Z with a shot.

You can only take so much from a highlights reel, mind.

But the pass completion percentage, it's all about the pass completion percentage!!!!

:D

Rooneys in a Torres-esque slump

Torres looks to be getting out of his, but Rooney's injury isn't gonna help him at all. I don't see a value of anywhere near 50m.

That was sterling who made that cross. Borini should have buried that chance. He wasn't spectacular allen but he did the simple things properly ie pass, move into space etc. Thats something a lot of liverpool players seem to struggle with.

I really like Allen as a player and he will be great for Liverpool. He is like the newer generation of midfielders we are starting to produce in the UK. Players like Cleverley, Wilshere and Allen know where they are going to pass the ball the whole time and they have backups. When a lot of english players are pressured they either hoof it or panic and give it away.

Allen was cornered a number of times against City and didn't even need to look up to know where his escape passes were.
