As did Liverpool with Allen, so assuming the Dembele deal goes through, correct me if I'm wrong but Allen cost 15M as well, so which team got the best deal considering the're both deep lying playmakers?

I guess you've not seen Dembele play if you think he's a deep lying playmaker.

And what I was getting at is that Levy's not actually done any work in terms of negotiating. He's paid a fee that reportedly gives Fulham no choice but to accept - it's hardly awesome work by him.

Joe Allen is 3 years younger and got more assists than Dembele last season.

Just sayin'.

i reckon dembele will play deep? that would make sense going on our formation.

and it is a shrewd bit of business. lots of fulham fans (although they would say this) are saying his clause should've been closer to £20m and some saying that we have infact paid £12m.

rumours united bid for him previously but didn't bid enough. as i've said, £15m 'seems' to be a bargain for this type of player (i'm not saying it couldn't go wrong and he doesn't work out for us) but to have a player want to come to us from another prem club, who has apparently been under the radar of united and (could be balls) real, then i think it is pretty good business.

I have plenty of times and last game of the season at WHL (where I think Jol kind of threw the game.... Still a yid), and that is where he played, he did occasionally venture towards our box but very rarely, just kept possession ticking over for Fulham who as a result kept the ball very well albeit without creating much at all.

dembele is younger than modric and got more direct assists than modric (apparently)

i'm not saying he's a direct modric replacement, he's not, i can't think of anyone who would be, not for <£20m anyway but i can't wait to see him play for us.

we could shortly be lining up like this

Ade

Bale Sig Willian

Dembele Sandro

BAE Kaboul Vert Walker

Lloris

that's a team that should be challenging top 4

I want Curtis Davis but no ida who it will be. The left back doesn't have to be defensive as such, just more aware of positioning and where he needs to be, which Fox really isn't good at.

I really like the sound of our attacking line up with Ramirez apparently being completed on Thursday. Still think we will do the 4-3-3/4-5-1 mix we have been trying out for the last 2 months as the second half tonight showed it does work when you have a bit of confidence to move and pass through the pressing team. Wack the new guys (and Lee) out wide and let Lallana play from the middle to "the hole" and it should work very well.

We are suddenly looking spoilt for choice going forward and (when Cork is fit) in the middle of the park too!

Somehow I forgot about Cork. Will be interesting to see how he's implemented in the Premier League.

Lallana would work well in a ACM role as proved against Wigan; I wonder if Lee will take up his Left Wing role this season when fit.

We've been linked to so many defenders it's hard to pick one out but Curtis Davis would be good as would Scott Dann (he had a poor season for Blackburn but before that he was very solid).

No idea about Left Back though. How's Wayne Bridge doing at Brighton so far?;)

I hope I don't regret trying to explain this to you. £15m for Dembele might be a decent deal for Spurs but if all Levy has done is make an offer that triggers a release clause in his contract, it's hardly awesome work by him - he's not done any work. Had he negotiated a deal for less than the release clause then you could say he's done an awesome job.

To sum up how simple Levy's job was in this deal - even you could have faxed an offer into Fulham for £15m and they'd have accepted it because they had to.

tbh from what I've seen of him* I'd say Dembele would permanently relegate Sandro to the bench. He's very much a box to box midfielder like Toure albeit without the goals (just a small minor point). He's certainly nothing like Modric.

*him being Sandro who I've never actually rated.

i like sandro, bags of energy and could be a natural successor to parkers role. parker was a revelation at spurs (i know he has his haters from opposing fans, and i didn't want him either) but he gave us something we'd been missing for a long time. unfortuanetly, he's getting on a bit and has always had injury problems.

Nah Sandro is immense for us, will be one of the first on the team sheet. I reckon it will be 4-3-3 with Sandro holding of the three, with Dembele ahead and Sig playing as the most advanced of the three, can't see Parker and Livermoor getting much of a look in tbh.

It looks as if VDV will be off, rumours of 16M to Hamburg, hopefully we could replace him with someone like Isco.

I've seen people quoting @indykaila from twitter. He's full of ****. He's not a journalist.

For what it's worth this is the guy who said we'd been in talks with Fulham for 2 days over Dembele before Spurs came in and matched his release clause

Take that how you will :p

If Spurs manage to get £16m for him, that would be awesome work from Levy.

He's your typical twitter blagger. He just picks up on rumours and just adds a bit of bs. You know they're full of **** when they retweet idiots (that believe their bs) praising them.

oh i dunno, BaZ87?

allen or dembele?

can i get a poll?

Why would I be bitter about Allen? He joined us. And why would I be bitter about Dembele? I've not once said I wanted him at Liverpool, because I don't.

You get confused really easily, don't you?

Just reading Jeremy Wilson's (from the Telegraph) tweets - he's saying that Liverpool are the only side to have made an inquiry for him but that City are interested too, Arsenal hope that Walcott will change his mind but are open to offers if he doesn't and that Arsenal don't feel that they'll need to replace him if he does go.

I would want us to sign a better right winger but I guess I can understand if he goes and we sign nobody. Gervinho, Arshavin, Cazorla and Chamberlain can play there. Gervinho is crap though.
