lloris is currently flying to london. lyon chairman accusing levy of moving the goal posts.

no deal done yet, should be a yay or nay before the deadline. lyon president puts its at 50/50 he will join spurs.

Just a rumour on the BBC transfer gossip page.

Not wishful to me, I'm not linked with either!

Would be an odd signing. It was widely reported he had a £7m release clause that ended in July. So not sure on the details but we could ask for silly money especially today?

Shame if we loose him, he looks sharper than Cisse in the past few games we've played.

£15m for Garcia plus a few more mil in add ons with performances etc.

Very happy with that.

Looks a good player from the small clips on YouTube and reading a few bits from football journalists he looks ideal.
What's clear is Garcia would be a great signing for City; a strong, robust holder who's good on the ball - and a step up from de Jong - who can also play at centre-back. Let's see..."

Ultimately that is what we wanted. An upgrade on NDJ whilst also adding depth to the squad as Garcia can play CB if necessary.

so dembele and moutinho, one of which is a definite signing, one of which is very probable, compared to lloris, who isn't confirmed, is a sign of moving sideways?

that with sig, manu and vert and possibly another striker on the way. is not a sign of moving sideways.

Dembele Moutinho/Modric VDV, yes its a sign of moving sideways.

You keep everyone, and buy Dembele, Sig, its improving, you get rid of a bunch of players, and buy a few more... its a toss up.

You're also failing to factor in AVB, who has in his time in the UK been a big pile of turd, has already done some odd things with Spurs and already dropped a bunch of points. Sure all teams do that but, AVB's track record from last year was horrific, he was probably the worst signing any club made this summer.

From what I can put together, you've gotten rid of Modric, VDV, Pienaar, Kranjcar, King, Nelson, Bassong, Gio, and Rose on loan, but also tried to get rid of Jenas, Huddlestone.

Vert is probably a very good signing, and Nelson/Bassong barely took part but Gallas is older and you had issues playing unfit CB's pretty often in King and Gallas has played through injury after injury not at his best. One CB isn't great, tried to sell another, its thin at the back shall we say. Fullback, very little cover and just loaned out a very competant fullback....

Wings, if you get Moutinho I think you'll end up playing Dembele on the wing a lot as you have very little cover there. Upfront in a single striker formation you've basically got no cover, I think Defoe is great but won't work in that system.

You've lost a lot of people who weren't used a lot under Redknapp, but SHOULD have been used a lot, and you've got a weaker squad, and its yet to be seen if the replacements can be as good as those that have left.

What cost you massively last year was having a full squad and not using it at all, this killed you post xmas. If Redknapp had used some of those guys all year long the post xmas tiredness wouldn't have happened. You've seemingly got rid of all the squad excess, then got rid of key players and replaced them with potentially very good players. But the key thing that killed Spurs getting third last year, is going to kill them this year, last year because you didn't use the squad you had, this year because those extra players are simply gone. It seems like AVB is going the less players, big wages on a huge signing route, which works for Chelsea because they can afford a dozen big signings on big wages, and it works for Porto, because they had no league competition and could afford to rest Falcao for the Europa league.

Great signing for them!

need to swop him into my ff team
