Looks like the Swans have nabbed Gylfi permanently:

Great result, especially considering his performances this season must have caught the eye of bigger teams :)

Saw that, great signing for them. I really like swansea and I think they could do well next year with a couple of good signing. Siggurdson is definitely a good buy for them.

For the record it now appears 99.9% certain that Hazard will sign for Chelsea today. On to the next target then....

We're having Kagawa too ul.

As an Arsenal fan, Hazard to Chelsea is best for the competition, had he gone to City they'd have been untouchable, had he gone to United them and City would have been even further ahead. At Chelsea they need far more than one player, even if this is a pretty good start ..

At Chelsea Hazard will be The Man. With no Drogba around, a dodgy in form outta form Torres and an ageing Lampard everything will go through Hazard rather than playing second fiddle to Rooney at United or forth fiddle behind Aguero, Silva & Toure at City.

Yeah Chelsea need more than just Hazard but it's a start and can only make the PL as a whole better that they strengthen with a talent such as Hazard.

Hahahahahahahahaha Hazard? The Man at Chelsea? Behave.

You honestly think Terry and Lampard will let that little upstart walk around like he owns the place? Come on. He'd get smacked down the day he walked into the training room and told exactly what his place is.

DM's right, the guys stalling and trying to get as much money out of this move as possible, all the rubbish he was spouting earlier in the season about playing time is nonsense, as is his statement about playing in England next season. Wouldn't surprise me if he went to Real.

I'll be sure to drag this up at roughly 4pm today ;)

hazrd's agent, (bico? something like that) is making a right mess of this all in the name of greed. apparently, no matter who hazard were to sign for, his agent stands to make £6m in year 1 and then a cut of fee/wages for the duration of the contract.

hazard is his only big name client. i wonder why.

Just thinking what Chelsea's lineup could be next season....

---------------Cech---------------
Ivanovic---Cahill---Terry---Cole
---Ramires--Romeu--Mata---
Marin--------Torres--------Hazard

Subs: Hilário, Luiz, Mikel, Essien, Lampard, Sturridge, Lukaku
.

I'd fancy any team in the top 10 to walk through that midfield

His agent has done wonders. Now everybody in the world who follows football knows the name Eden Hazard and knows that all the biggest clubs in the league were desperate to buy him. Boosted his brand enormously

If he has a ridiculous year, nobody will remember this media nonsense (don't forget the most annoying thing in all of this, as always, has been the media)

Wouldn't surprise me, I said all along he'd fit better at Arsenal and if (a big if tbf) we've stalled on completing a deal for him while we wait for Hazard I wouldn't blame him for telling us where to go and sign for someone else.

I'd prefer Muniain than both of them anyway :p

Be my guest. Chelsea would be welcome to him, but can't see it happening. Personally can't see any reason why any serious professional would want to sign for Chelsea right now with their ongoing managerial situation. If he does, then it'll be down to one thing and one thing only, the money they have offered him.

I really like Muniain, I think Kagawa is better at present, or at least more effective. Muniain is so good though and will improve

They've just won the CL in case you missed it. Quite the draw

Guess you probably feel the same about the Man Utd midfield as well then?

EDIT:

Just seen this on the caf

2009: Benzema
2010: Ozil
2011: Sneijder
2012: Hazard?

Every summer a transfer saga and every summer the Man Utd supporters are left disappointed :p (at least this years one has ended early)

Please please please explain to me how that makes an iota of difference. Hazard has not won the CL. Chelsea will not win it next year. Chelsea didn't win it in any style to suggest that it was anything more than a huge amount of luck coupled with a herculean effort.

If you play as well as you can and still need massive amounts of luck to win something then you are no-where near the best team in the competition. Leagues are always a much better indication of a teams strengths and prowess as it assesses them over 38 games.

Chelsea finished 6th below Newcastle. The only difference winning the CL would make to Hazards decision is the fact that Chelsea are in it this year again. Winning it and getting in is exactly the same as going out in the group stages and getting in the top 4 in the Prem.

Whilst luck played it's part could you really see Arsenal or Spurs say get that luck and pull it off? What Chelsea have shown is that they're capable of winning the biggest trophies luck or no luck so I can see why they'd appeal to him from that point of view.

Make no mistakes though the clincher will be Chelsea willing to pay the £5m agent fees, coupled with the location, wage and the prospect of being their star player.

Like I said though I think it's great for the PL that Chelsea are signing him, makes things a lot more interesting....

Why? What's the likelihood of them repeating that and/or being able to claw back the 25 odd points they dropped compared to the Manchester clubs. Also no confirmed manager, core of the team is ageing... Unless he was chucked a shed load of money, confirmation that pep guardiola was coming in as manager and bringing messi with him, I can't see anything that would appeal to me at Chelsea.

Or it could all be a load of media BS and he picks somewhere else completely.

Will wait to see what happens rather than speculate :p

As said though, Fergie wouldnt let a player announce if he was joining United. Unless fergie is there now, doesn't he holiday in france? ;)

I agree, it will make the league more interesting next season but that is beside the point. The reasons you mention are the ones that would tempt him, not their CL win.

The only thing that allowed Chelsea to win the CL is that they have a good defensive setup and the whole team was disciplined enough to sit behind the ball the whole time. That doesn't mean they are better than Arsenal or Spurs, just that the one quality they needed to survive was present in the team whereas most teams would only win the competition by deserving it.

I would wager that if those last 3 fixtures were played 1000 times more, Chelsea wouldn't win the CL again. Barca on most other days would have stuck 4-5 past them, Bayern would have rinsed them if some of their key players had actually been able to score gilt edged chances.

Was it the year before last that we went out to Bayern when Robben scored that volley with one of the last kicks of the game. How something like that didn't happen to Chelsea over the last 3 games is a miracle.
