AM4 B350/X370 black screen crash thread

Done half an hour aida, 40 mins of rb bench, no black screen.

Just running prime95 for a while. Maybe half an hour /hour.

Really is seeming like specific to the stress test.

But if so, what would that mean?

I have no clue. We need a larger base to test with. AMD matt passed his fine, scramz is doing his now. I'm hoping my board comes tuesday. So we can hopefully narrow this down.

A weird one...... I left my computer in the other room running the realbench stress test, just went to check on it and it has rebooted itself.
Sat on the desktop with nothing running. A check in task manager tells me its been running for 10 minutes.... It was at least 30 when I left it.

I wonder if the black screen issue is a really slow reboot?

17 minutes in and it crashed. After passing 10 runs of the benchmark.....
Went into AIDA64 and this

That took a whole 4 seconds :)

Can you try de-selecting one of those options at a time and see if any allows you to run longer?

I would leave out the disk stress bit in geenral

Have jsut started with GPU included. Just memory left to try in a bit

Will give it about 20/30 min

Its the system memory. Everything else was left selected and it ran for 10 minutes fine. I selected the memory and within 9 seconds the CPU usage dropped from 100 to 20 and gave me the failure warning.
This memory test passed 4 hours of memtest yesterday...... Incompatibility with my board maybe?

Just did half an hour with all but disk stress enabled, no problems.

So, hour of prime, fine.

Few half hour runs of Aida with different things selected, fine.

Quite a few runs of RB benchmark, fine.

2 mins in RB stress, black screen.

1st stick installed failed within 23 seconds.
2nd stick installed its still running 6 minutes in.....

These passed memtest yesterday both installed together. Due to the "unique" way the tomahawk is setup I can only install dimms in A2 and B2 if using 2 sticks. If 1 stick then it is B2 only. Otherwise it will not boot. I'm going to leave it for an hour then run RB for an hour then try installing both together in the opposite slots they were originally.

Unfortunately the tests fail with no matter what I select if it involves system memory.

Shame....Looks to be a mem issue then....Compatibilty...?

Have you tried another Brand?

maybe the Crosshair hero VI is the only viable Ryzen mobo currently then if wanting to run 4ghz with any semblance of stability?

Unfortunately I don't have any other ddr4. This is what I'm using https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cors...00mhz-dual-channel-kit-red-led-my-48c-cs.html

I have now swapped the sticks around and have been running AIDA for 20 minutes :/

1 stick failed within 23 seconds in slot B2
2 stick passed 30 mins in B2

Stick that failed is now in slot A2 both sticks installed and I'm now 20 mins stable in AIDA64. This has been a bumpy ride.

Both of these passed memtest yesterday. 4 passes with 0 errors found.
