Amazon Fire TV

Mine works fine from a 5V 500mA tv port. I think prior to installing an update it gave a low power message but I simply ignored it and it's not mentioned it ever again.
 
Does anyone else have problems with Netflix constantly forgetting the login details, on the Fire stick? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Seemed to work for a few days and now it's back to forgetting the login.

Yeah got the same on ours. Not sure if its sorted, the wife tends to use it more than I do.
 
Anyone know if All 4 has been released for the original (pre 4k) FTVs? There's so much stuff on there I want to watch..
 
Got the new Fire TV box at the weekend. I hadn't realised how versatile these little boxes are. Sideload Kodi and a VPN, grab a few addons, then a whole new world of TV opens up.

I am suitably impressed.
 
My remote often loses sync to box (removing batteries usually fixes)

The box sometimes is black and unresponsive when turning on - eventually comes alive and boots up with amazon fire splash screen (not sure if this is because leaving kodi on for a long time with tv off)

I get the same, seemed to start after I added my Harmony remote as a BT device.

My box restarted when the wife turned on the second TV which is connected by HDMI via an AV amp. Have not tried again yet to see if it is a constant problem. Perhaps this is a similar issue?

its quite annoying :)

the amazon is connected to a sony soundbase which has also got connected a ps4

maybe that has something to do with it...

but originally I thought it was broken - just blackness for an age - kept pressing remote and eventually the white dot on the box apperated and the firetv logo as it was rebooting...

According to EU law the streaming of content is not the same as downloading it, so technically it's legal to stream things that you can't legally download (it's not just crazy banana legislation they come up with!). A raid did take place against several shops advertising that they offered full Sky/Virgin TV without a subscription.

So do I wait for a Roku 4 or do I pick one of these up?

I guess the only difference is that the Roku will have Now TV so would have everything UK on-demand wise available for it.

So I picked one of these up yesterday.

Lovely bit of kit. Amazon and Netflix in 4K, all the UK on-demand content plus WWE and UFC.

Will compliment my Apple TV which has our films.
