Amazon Fire TV

Has anyone elses Fire TV started randomly turning their TV on by itself? 3 times today we have walked into the living room to see the TV on and the Fire TV displaying?

Might be something to do with the update. Ours updated and that day seemed to have turned itself on when we came back from work. Hasn't happened again though. Clearly a ghost.

Still loving mine. I have side loaded a SNES emulator and am working my way through Super Mario World. It has been the best part of 20 years since I last completed it.

Can't decide on this or the Shield, trying to justify the extra cash and if I'd actually play the games that much, are there a few games on the fire me and the kids could play? Will I have to get a wifi controller to play such games ...

Will whack Kodi on etc

Thanks

maybe a silly question, but i don't want to go and buy the wrong thing, and I've been in this position before and 3 orders later got the right attachment...

I have a vga monitor. seperate speakers (not got these yet, but either 3.5 jack or bluetooth)

What cable / box do i need to get this fire stick working. (yes hdmi to vga, but there are about about 600 different ones and i'd rather know what people have and use than take a punt)

Also, can the fire stick output to bluetooth speakers?
I presume you can connect a bluetooth keyboard too?

Got my Fire TV yesterday, now returning it as it's no good to me. All4 never plays any videos and 5oD now My5 says it's not compatible, so 2 of the big catch up services don't work.

Wondering why I couldn't connect to my Fire with adbfire to sideload some apps to it since upgrade to FireOS5, found out you need to stop firestarter to allow connection

Just in case anyone else had the same problem!

You can just change one parameter in Firestarter, that's what I did at the weekend.

This is from the adbFire help section -

Device Offline
If you're not using FireStarter try toggling ADB Debugging off then on in your Fire TV developer settings.
For FireStarter users, try these settings:
Enable Background observation: checked
Fallback to Non-ADB Observation: checked
Home detection via ADB: unchecked
Startup Application: FireTV Home
Home button single-click: FireTV Home
Home button double-click: Kodi
Single-click app: clear previous is checked
Double-click app: clear previous is unchecked

Home Detection via ADB must be unchecked.

Thanks will give this a go, since I updated Kodi to v16 it can't seem to update my plexbmc folders on the shortcuts, but I can find the files if I go to them, any ideas? Using Aeon Nox skin.

All4 has only just launched and to be honest 4od was so painful to use I'm 99% certain the issues are their end and you may see it on other devices anyway. 5od I have no idea about.. can't remember the last time I watched ch5 :p

Thanks, got that working just right.

Now trying to figure out why my skin settings are disappearing and my TV shows shortcut is not working as it used to since Kodi v16.
