Amazon Prime - Dont have it then you can wait.

i ordered stuff directly from amazon on free supersaver delivery and they turn up within a couple of days at most, last thing i bought on free delivery i ordered friday and it turned up sunday which i wasn't expecting

the marketplace is different, I've ordered stuff from 3rd party sellers and it's taken nearly a month sometimes to get it, those "fulfilled by amazon" sales

Took 4 days to leave the warehouse and its been another 4 days and it still hasn't arrived, so we are on 8 days IF it arrives today.
Was free delivery, didnt realise it was free delivery when we get round to it.

Damn that's almost as bad as the online computer shop starting with an e

Will admit that Amazons customer service isnt as good as it used to be

The only slight complaint I can see is that in the past, when you selected 'free delivery' it would often turn up early (ie well within the 5 days) - maybe they're now putting slightly less focus on trying to delight those type of customers.

Yes but more people now subscribe to prime so there is less space for the economy delivery option.

Also, the way Amazon schedule the super saver delivery is quite clever... If someone else on your street or certain distance from your house orders something expedited (through prime for example), Amazon will also dispatch your delivery because the driver will be close enough for them to add it without it taking much of a delivery window. So basically, if one of your neighbours was with Prime and ordered within those 5 days you waited, you would have received your item sooner ;)

Meh, having to wait a week for a "free" delivery - did you desperately need that TV sooner (you could have paid for next day delivery) or are you just being impatient? :)

I don't have prime and whenever I order stuff my attitude is it'll get here when it gets here, I rarely need anything that desperately and if I do, I will drive to the nearest town to get it.

Prime isn't too bad as long as you make use of the streaming service as well.

Not sure i'd pay it just for next day delivery. That's a handy extra bonus.
If you order enough from Amazon, then having next day (and in some cases same day) del adds up to the value of annual Prime membership anyway.

On top of that, you get TV shows and movies and music streaming as part of the package.

Non prime members get free super saver delivery which is approx 5 days and advertised as such. You could have paid extra for expedited delivery which would have seen you receive it sooner. Prime members just get this free instead of having to pay each time. That's not you being pushed to the back, that's you not wanting to pay for fast delivery, then expecting it anyway.

Exactly this.

Frankly i find it quite cheeky that you'd expect priority delivery over those of us who do actually pay for the service.

Those people got their TV's the following day because they have paid for them, if you wanted it the following day you should have paid for expedited delivery. Either that or go and buy it from one of the well known high-street stores - but obviously you won't go there because you'll end up paying more for it anyway.

So you didn't pay for prime and are now whining that you're not getting the same service as Prime members? Seriously?

Supersaver has always been up to 5 days or so delivery with first class/prime deliveries getting priority, but if they're having a slow period supersaver used to come next day at times.
The only thing that seems to have changed is that these days Amazon are generally busier so you get less of the "fast" super saver deliveries as I think supersaver used to take advantage of excess capacity on the priority couriers/packing lines.

If you order enough from Amazon, then having next day (and in some cases same day) del adds up to the value of annual Prime membership anyway.

On top of that, you get TV shows and movies and music streaming as part of the package.
And if you're not in a rush you can get a pound back on each item for non urgent deliveries (great if you buy ebooks).

I ordered a few DVD's the other day from amazon as they were the cheapest place for them, and effectively got them for ~50p each as I realised they were eligible for non urgent delivery so I broke the order down into separate items and took advantage of the credits :) (I've got several ebooks on order that are due for release in the next few weeks).

I've had it happen fairly often too. Or even go so far as an item showing as being in stock, ordering before the time thresh and the delivery date will still show as 2 or 3 days time instead of next day.

if it arrives late talk to Amazon chat, their very helpful

i had 5 missed deliveries all due to the driver turning up after 17:00 to a business address. each time i contacted Amazon, Each time i got at least 1 month free extra Prime.
They eventually investigated the Delivery company & it been fine since. However through these 5 missed deliveries i ended up with Amazon Prime free for ages (check below)

Payment History

Last payment: 12 January 2016
You will lose access to your benefits on
12 January 2018

the chat takes all of 5-10 Minutes

Not at all but feel free to make out that getting sub standard service is perfectly ok.
IF i order something in stock then it should be shipped, not shipped to the guy who ordered later.

I have no problem with the concept of prime, i have a problem with the concept of being treated like a chump.

Its like getting my lunch and having my sandwich taken off me at the till cause the guy behind me has a club card and he wants the last BLT.

You still got your TV though didn't you? That analogy is flawed, it's more of a case that they served the clubcard guy/s first then you lot. Unless a prime customer took your TV from your order (which I don't see how that can be proved fully).

Maybe that is how the system works though, you order on free delivery and they only allocate stock when your order gets going to be picked up. In that time others who paid for delivery have had their order progressed faster and when your order comes to be processed there's no stock anymore. I see how it's crappy but I still can't blame them, they've a two tiered system and they're just catering for the top base first.

It's not sub-standard service. It's service. Prime members get expedited service at a cost. Not that hard is it?

And where in standard delivery does it say that you will wait over 8 days for an item that is meant to be delivered in 5 or over 2 months for a phone that they sold to prime members with preference for stock.?
