yes - they could have not stocked them at all!!! That would have been more unlucky
I which case I would not have been able to order them which even more illogical.

No, it happens for Prime users as well. Occasionally they run out stock or have issues with suppliers, it happens.

One item could not have been in stock and you had the 'group items into as few parcels as possible' option ticked so the rest waited for that one item.
I don't want guaranteed next day service, just to understand the logic of Amazons delivery protocols.
Had not thought of that, will look out for that in the future, thanks.
If you choose free delivery it will get there when it gets there, 2-3 days usually but could be longer, no guarantied delivery date is pretty self explanatory.
Next day after ordering isn't always guaranteed though is it? Isn't it now next day after despatch, which could be a day or two after placing the order.
I'm not Prime but I've had to pay for P&P before due to the £20 minimum and had it take longer to arrive than if I ordered more than £20 and got free shipping.
Many other places to shop with if they start doing this, many giants have fallen by doing silly policies.
Depends what time you order and the day, weekend delivery for me is only available in work and not my home address.
Had an email this morning telling me a certain item would be delivered and to be fair it still might, but out of the blue two other items have arrived which according to Amazon are not due to next Tuesday, so I am still baffled by the delivery structure.
