Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

I had to make a formal complaint to Royal Mail because the postie wouldn't knock or ring the doorbell, posting a slip to save them time!

It happened at least 10 times.

It's a 10 mile trip each time to the sorting office for us.

I call them Royal Fail now.

It's because the postie doesn't want to carry your parcel. I've caught them a couple of times putting a card though the door, and when asking for the parcel they admit it's back at the sorting office, or if you're lucky it'll be on the van with his mate doing the local parcel deliveries before picking the postie up again.

Any time I had a delivery, I'd be sat in the lounge and that's by the front door. You know what day they are coming but not the time, I think you aren't referring to Amazon deliveries via Royal Fail but if you were, you can't look out the window all day. What can you do if they don't knock or ring the doorbell?

Yep, I've chased after them too if I've heard the slip get posted.

Can't fault amazon's policy with faulty goods. Brought a Xbox Elite controller back in November and it might have an issue with the left analog stick, sometimes up/down does not respond in Fifa(might just be Fifa). Quick online chat and they are refunding me for the controller.

Bought. You bought an Xbox Elite controller ;)

I've still had nothing but good experiences with Amazon even throughout all this. There is one thing that's puzzling me though but it's more on the Royal Mail side than Amazon. I ordered a game from Amazon yesterday which was sent via Royal Mail and it turned up this morning which is great and this has happened with a couple of my friends too. But, all of the normal post and other things I bought last week that were actually sent off last week via RM on 1st and 2nd class are still not here.

I'm not complaining as I'm in no rush for any of it and I do of course understand that post is experiencing delays at the moment, but I do wonder why all the normal post is delayed by a day or two whereas Amazon items sent via Royal Mail don't seem to be.

Yup. Something is up with that. Have Amazon done a deal with the Royal Mail or something?

As I said earlier, I've been with Amazon since June 2000, and I've never , ever had a parcel delivered by Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed 1pm, before. Like, Never.

It was a fairly big box parcel. To send it myself by the same means would've cost around £20 ish. (content value was £40 - nothing special)

What's going on?

They used to offer 1pm special delivery as an option a decade or so ago, it was something like £10, or £5 for prime customers. The option disappeared around the time they moved everything over to amazon logistics. Now its free next day, but with a massive 14 hour or so delivery window, and I still remember that delivery i got after midnight.

I'm not massively happy with amazon at the moment. Bought a monitor which was faulty, waited 3 weeks for the second which arrived with scratch on the screen. Sent them both back a week gone Tuesday via (shudder) Hermes drop off. Tracking still shows they've been collected and still waiting for refund. Told to wait until tomorrow and they claim they will refund us, believe it when I see it.

Do Amazon prioritise customers, only I ordered an item that had 4 left in stock yesterday, I have free trial of prime.

After I ordered I kept checking stock levels for the next hour and it eventually sold out, today I get an email to say unfortunately the item I ordered is not currently available.

I've had two orders from Amazon recently that they say were dispatched, then a day later delayed. When you speak to their customer services they don't have a clue and just read from a script. Amazon Logistics are awful. My deliveries almost never arrive until late evening. All in all a p*** poor experience that has gotten worse over the last decade, which is a shame because they used to be fantastic.

I've cancelled Prime now and won't be re-subscribing. I don't care much about Amazon Video, Music, Kindle or anything else. All I ever wanted was next day delivery.

They authorised my refund today, claiming I'll get it by the 10th. We'll see!

Stock levels on website can be out of date especially if 3rd party sellers.

Also sometimes stock is back ordered when a sale is done, and then they discover supplier doesnt have the stock.

Ironically for me amazon delivery has improved since the virus. I expect because they no longer have to deliver to many business, residential addresses are getting a better service.

Parents presents for their birthdays arrived morning after order made.

My new handle which I ordered, is on tracking due today, but what is different to normal, is they have actually gave me a delivery window, which they have never done before until late on. due between 6pm and 9pm, still quite late in the day, but at least I know the window.

I returned an item which was not as described (mixing bowl for Kenwood Chef, said it was 4.6lt but actually 6.7lt. Entirely the wrong model). Anyway, it was picked up on June 1st and my orders show it's still not received by Amazon. Not happy at all. They will only process my return when they get it back.

Yet another late Prime delivery. Given there’s nothing I want to watch on Prime at the moment, I might cancel it until Christmas.

I've had a very mixed experience since the lockdown with one order actually turning up 6 hours later through to some saying next day but taking 2-3 days but a good amount are still next day though 3rd party ones mostly have a couple of days or so longer lead time than normal.

Given the situation I don't find it too unacceptable really even if not always ideal.

Only Amazon orders I've had problems with is when they send it via Royal Fail . Other items direct from Amazon on Prime have been very good some even the same day

Have you contacted them? I normally find a quick poke after a week and they'll issue to refund regardless as it's on them if it's lost anyway if you used their return service.

Annoying service with a happy ending, sort of.

Ordered a Modmic USB a couple of weeks ago on a Thursday, it was in stock and due to arrive Saturday to Monday, Prime.
Monday came and still no “dispatched” email and the item was now out of stock. So later that day I got a “we don’t have a clue what’s going on, you can wait or cancel” email.

I cancelled that order and re-ordered the standard Modmic Uni, £20 cheaper and in stock. Ordered Wednesday, Prime and it arrived Saturday, as expected. Though it turned out they send me the USB version I originally tried to order instead of the cheaper version.

So a bit of a ball-ache but got what I originally wanted for £20 less.

Never had an issue with Amazon deliveries but one thing that really annoys me is when you select to have them delivered on a certain day and Amazon ignores it!

Ordered 4 items yesterday, 2 of them couldn't be delivered until Friday.
So, on checkout, I choose all of them to be delivered Friday (it even defaulted to Friday to "reduce number of visits").

One item is now being delivered today (Thursday) in 5 minutes.
Another says it will be delivered today with no ETA.
And the other two, tomorrow.

What's the point in offering me a specific day for delivery if they then totally ignore it?
What if I chose a specific day because no one is in the other days?
