Amazon Prime !!!!

So nothing whatsoever to do with Amazon then.
I'm not sure.

There's no denying they are pretty sneaky when trying to get you to accidentally sign up.

I'm not sure if I've screwed up and ended up with an accidental Prime membership. I'm careful but they are very devious in pushing it on you during the checkout process.

It's fantastic, isn't it. It's never failed me, every single thing I've ever ordered using it has turned up when promised, even during the height of lockdown 1. In fact, during lockdown 1 when they said things may take three or four days, they generally arrived the next day anyway.

It's worth every single penny I pay for it.

Agree with this, we made use of the standard music thru alexa, then kindle free, and the various prime tv stuff too.
Amazon are one of the few companies that haven't be ass ****** by brexit with regards Norn Iron, the UK govt have really messed us up.
There is so much basic produce that even Tesco are having trouble sorting, and to try to buy a large electrical appliance cooker fridge at the moment to a Norn iron post code is an utter mess.

Prime is pretty decent to be fair, had a noisy case fan back in December, ordered a replacement at 2pm and it arrived at 9pm same day, that's insane!

2 of my relatives have received automated calls recently supposedly from "Amazon" neither have used Amazon before or have accounts asking them to selection option blah blah to renew your Prime ...Scammers

The Amazon Prime "trick" has got nothing on Ryanair - this is from my most recent booking a few days ago:

Untick this box if you don't want to receive?
I mean, I know Ryanair have plenty of previous for this sort of thing, but really?

I stand corrected! I'm pretty sure I've never had Amazon prime come via royal mail, how would they ever do next day?

Are you somewhere pretty rural so few couriers?

We have lots of the smaller packages delivered by Royal Mail, bigger ones are by Amazon courier.

You're not signed up with Prime but you're not sure if you have Prime? Huh?

This.
I don't trust them not to sign me up covertly/silently :p

Admittedly if they wanted to covertly sign me up without my knowledge a phone call to tell me about it would be counter productive.

Interesting, earlier this year living in Salisbury and now in Farnham literally everything no matter how small comes by courier, always has 100% of the time.

Everything from Amazon comes via their own couriers for me no matter the size or value.
99% of the time it's the same bloke in his car.

There is a good probability you will - If by any chance you get up to your mid 70's just remember this thread. You will have made it to kranky land or thier feeding you by tubes.:)
Glad you saw the light hearted side of my comment!

Don't worry DXP55, I'll get going to work and pay taxes for you :D:cool:

@DXP55 Got a phone call this morning, "Thank you for renewing your Amazon Prime membership."

Now I'm *very* careful not to sign up for this thing, but I immediately remember it has been about a month since my last purchase.

"Great, now I've got to fight to get my money back," I'm thinking.

Go to Amazon, check my account, don't appear to have Prime, because they're asking me to sign up for a trial.

So now it looks like the nuisance callers are using Amazon Prime in their scam calls, too..

Going to have to check my account tonight to be 100% sure. What a pain in the ass.

Yes, my Mother is getting these every day. Pretty funny really, she has trouble sending an email let alone using the internet for shopping so there's no chance of her ever signing up for Prime.

Ah yeah I had one about Amazon Prime as well took me a while to figure out it was a scam as I was half asleep. Mine are usually on a friday morning.

Mine gets regular scam calls as well I've warned her about fake amazon calls but theres only so much you can do. She doesn't have an account either keeps asking me about setting one up but I'm not sure its such a good idea...

My experience with Prime is pretty good. I had student prime for the last few years and didn't realise I would be paying the full year. I have decided to cancel next month as I am not renewing. However I did complain to amazon for a late delivery, few times, got £10 voucher and also, they refunded me 2 months prime. But when I checked my bank account, they refunded me for the whole year by error, result. So I 2020 prime did not cost me a penny;):D

And €3 for a text message? The sooner Ryanair dies the better. Awful company.

Yeah the swines literally woke me up this morning. Perhaps it's deliberate to call that early and catch people half-asleep. Would be pretty devious if that was an actual tactic.

Absolutely agree with this too especially during the last year. Some stuff has even turned up same day!
