Amazon slacking

Nope.
...
That definitely says guaranteed...

My mistake. It looks like guarantees are made for certain items. When I went to track my last 10 or more orders, I always saw "estimated delivery date".

If we provide a guaranteed delivery date and a delivery attempt is not made by this date, we will refund any shipping fees associated with that order.

If someone buys an item and pays additional fees to get a guaranteed delivery date, Amazon will certainly refund that person those extra fees if the delivery is late. However, when someone makes an order with Prime and the guaranteed delivery date is not met, Amazon will still refund those fees, it's just that the amount will be £0.00, as the shipping charges were free.

It's not really "free" though, as you pay for Prime, it's just that you pay a flat rate monthly/annually instead of per delivery.

OK So the 'credit'/compensation Amazon has given to Prime customers, when Amazon missed a guaranteed delivery is just discretionary,
they have (cynically) done their market analysis and determined that if they show this good will, those customers will feel more content/loyal and purchase a higher volume of stuff.
The USA prime take-up figures from the other 'Prime' thread did show that Prime customers purchased (I think it was) 2x non-prime customers.
(It is like the car customers who feel content when there has been a well executed recall, or waitrose giving free coffees)

Prime membership includes more than just faster delivery. Even if you don't use the additional features, it could be very well argued that you're not paying £annual_membership / number_of_orders_per_year per order for faster delivery, which is why the refund you get for a missed delivery is £0.00.

I just cancelled prime due to another 'prime' order thats unfulfilled until I complain and then they say its not in the UK!
Customer service was a joke, over the phone said cancel and re order its a technical issue, so I asked them to email that advice, the email said nothing like that. I emailed my issue got a reply so I asked whens it coming, nothing, they are awful these days, John lewis ao and netflux for me!

Personally had very little issues overall as a Prime customer - in the last 6 months only 1.58% of my orders with them have had any issues and only 0.79% have not turned up at all.

exactly....it's not an automatic credit - so if you're ordering items close to the deadline then asking for compensation then it's 'abuse', however they still get the sale and the van is probably passing your house anyway....and you'll buy more stuff with your free month of Prime. So not so sure who wins!!

I used to get automatically credited with a free month Prime - doesn't seem to happen any more but if the delivery had a problem and the progress bar had a yellow triangle sign I'd get it without even asking - doesn't seem to happen now though.

I assumed it worked like that until last week when I got the first failed delivery since I got Prime (with no auto credit)

Largely it wasn't automatic - and doesn't seem to work now but for some reason I was getting it done automatically a couple of years back. Only happened if the delivery was flagged with certain wording though when there was a problem.

I took delivery of a warehouse sold monitor described as like new. Missing cables and the condition was more like average, but that is just a one off.

What I am seeing are things which I can order today through my Prime account for one day delivery and yet they will not be delivered until Tuesday, today being Saturday for anyone reading this post on the future.
This is for several items that I had in my basket yesterday, which had showed the following days delivery being possible.
It is almost as though Sunday delivery is not being done nor the order being processed until Monday for Tuesday delivery.

Often I note found that if Amazon Logistics are showing as the courier then tagged with that is the note the delivery can be upto 9.00pm. That didn't use to be the case.

I know that Prime offers more than just a delivery service but it did seem to be slipping a little in its one day delivery window.

Those potential orders that I could place today for Tuesday delivery are showing as One day deliveries.!

^^^^ you can see a screen grab of what I mean, put in spoilers due to size...!

That's showing like that because the next dispatch is Monday, which is why it says if you order in the next 52h. It's one day delivery from dispatch, it's not particularly misleading.

Prime is not a 'everything arrives the day after you order' service, it depends when the item is available for dispatch but it's very up front and clear on this, as in your screen grab.

Starting to get a bit fed up with Amazon lately. If this was a one off or if it had a decent explanation I'd shrug it off and move on, but both my wife and I have had loads of orders cancelled or delayed recently and I'm getting to the point of considering cancelling my Prime membership because of it. Getting seriously irritating now.

Am I the only one experiencing this?

4 days? Is that all? If you were non-prime it'd be more like 4 weeks.

I ordered some coolant on the 11th for next day delivery (prime) still haven't got it. Been fobbed off twice with offers of updates.

Wish I had just bought it from OcUK but forgot at the time :(.

I did order something from Amazon recently but only after ordering noticed it wasn't them but a 3rd party seller looked at their reviews and they were appalling! Shipping from Milan, Italy had a euro plug on it and instructions were only in Italian! You can imagine what a hassle returns are to get it back to Italy. I promptly cancelled and ordered it from OCuk instead, £6 more but at least it arrived next day rather than the 3 weeks or so Amazon were quoting and the instructions were in English.

I ordered something last week. Didn't need it urgently so elected to have standard delivery and a £1 digital credit. I later ordered something I needed next day.

Both items were delivered next day as a single delivery. Quite a good way to get next day and a credit if you have multiple items :)

Yeah someone mentioned that earlier in the thread. It's a great suggestion.

Not really because you'd just print off an Amazon return label and post it back through normal methods. It wouldn't have been any different from returning something from the UK.
