You can tell it not to automatically renew straight after you sign up for the trial, so there's no fault with Amazon here. Though I do actually use Prime myself since it's a bargain with how much stuff I order off Amazon throughout the year.
1) Person agrees to terms & conditions
2) Person is billed, as per agreement
3) Person goes mental, merchant cancels payment as gesture of goodwill
...
5) Person rages

. It's great that they refund the membership fee, but a day one reminder would saved me the fine. I understand it was my fault though
