AMD 6800 & 6800 XT MBA LAUNCH AT 2PM TODAY - EXTREMELY LIMITED STOCK!

From what I recall they didn't even say they'll post them instantly, even if without buy button. Rather, they'll be posting them at random? hours through the day, starting 2pm. Lets see if that helps anything though, as people might just sit and whack F5 for the whole day, including bots hammering as well.
Ah OK. Yeah I'm not sure it'll help.

All that said, I do have OcUK's terrible technology to thank for the fact that I do now have a 6800.

I nearly got a 6800XT last Wednesday - I was about three minutes too late. I managed to get one in the basket and pay for it, which is far more than I did on any other site, and it's only because their whole site crashed that I was in with a chance. They didn't even receive any orders until 20 minutes after they put the buy button live :)

And then because they over-sold the XTs they also undersold the non-XTs, so they put them back on sale the next day, announced it here, and that's when I was able to get one.

I tried on other sites last Wednesday and got nowhere. So although I paid more on OcUK than I would have elsewhere, I do feel somewhat pleased that their tech behaved so badly. It seemed to level the playing field somewhat :)

The hardened 2020 launch tactic.

No advertising and not selling at launch time.

Then once the coast is clear quietly make the product listings live at 4am next day.

Or....wait for.all competitors to sell out at near MSRP... Then list stock at insane markups and have them sell out instantly while sipping the champagne.

I paid £660, plus postage.

More than I wanted to pay, but realistically with the AIB cards here at OcUK available on the 25th being pre-orders only, and likely at a higher price again, I've pulled the trigger.

Apologies for my post earlier, I didn't know forum rules as I'm new, now I know...

Still would appreciate some help/kind words

As I couldn't face the F5 rat race on Wednesday I sent a speculative email to a company registering my interest in an RX 6800 (non XT) on Sunday evening.

Got a phone call at 1430Hrs today asking if I still wanted one, I answered yes, went on website and paid for it and it is now out for delivery arriving tomorrow 24 Nov 20. Happy days.

Just need my 5600X now, 152 in the queue at OC, to complete the upgrade from an i5 3570k and GTX970.

Great to hear, and good old fashioned comms prevailed!

Could u give a little hint. I’ve been checking the amd store but still out of stock and OCUk saying they don’t know if more stock is coming in never. On launch I must have missed out by a few seconds. Are that place in Bolton restocking? Am gonna buiid my own bot tomorrow to scrape these sites, am sick of not being lucky

Would be good if someone could be kind and give us both a hand getting hold of these new graphic cards....

I spent '3hours on the internet' last night scouring for BogEyes' deal but came up empty.
