AMD 6800 & 6800 XT MBA LAUNCH AT 2PM TODAY - EXTREMELY LIMITED STOCK!

Can't offer those of us that got rejected a coupon code that gives priority next time? Say, email everyone that got their order cancelled today a coupon code which gives a £0 discount, but then if they place an order next week you filter the orders by ones that used the code, and process those first.
No mate you have 18 post and 0 entitlement to anything.

So what do you all think regarding the decision to not publish pages before launch? Personally I thought it was much worse this time around. I didn't even know where to refresh or who would have stock. Wasted 30 minutes refreshing about 8 stores for nothing.

Completely agree.

I was refreshing here at OcUk, a competitors site as well as AMD's own page.

It was very confusing, because I clicked the 6800 AMD banner at OcUK and kept refreshing that but the cards never showed up.

AMD's own website kept showing me prices in USD so I didn't add them to basket.

I was seemingly looking in the right places, just not quite exactly.

We'll process them as quickly as possible. Unless your bank takes five days to put money back in your account I can't foresee any issues.

We don't have your cash yet. We won't see that for another few days...banks do tend to drag their feet on bank to bank transfers, it's usually 2-3 days.

Thanks, even though people are angry, and understandably so (at AMD), its nice that at least OCUK staff are actively responding to people. Will be back on the rush next week!

I paid using paypal, so paypal have paid you, it's in your paypal account already, just a case of hitting the refund button when you can.

That's because you're bogeyed

So we now know the buy button was live for all of 2 mins at 2pm - but the product links to teh secret pages werent posted on here until 2.25 - okay - great way to look after your customers.

Much as I respect both Gibbo and 8Pack, and both have assisted me directly with tech queries in the past, 8Pack’s earlier post has left a sour taste in my mouth. Very unprofessional.

The customer is always right even when they’re clearly wrong. Business 101.

Really shouldn’t pour fuel on disgruntled customer’s fires!

I see the post has now been amended.

Could you not have just rewarded loyal customers here by not posting direct links to the products on social media though? Surely you’d have known you’d have no problem shifting so few cards here to the loyal.
I can't really comment becuase I don't know how they managed to get the hyperlink. They must have lucked out because neither myself nor Gibbo could access the section at 2pm
The way our website works is that the section should go live when the cards do and the website was already on its arse when we set the cards live.

From Kyle Bennet, former HardOCP/Intel

What you are going to see will be different from what NVIDIA has done.

AMD MBA cards will be in short supply up front. However, where you saw NV front-load almost all its cards, AMD is backloading. Once AIB cards hit, you will see 5 to 7 times the inventory released than what NV has shipped total in NA at this time. AMD will be heavily back-loaded into the channel. AMD is shipping ASIC BOM kits nearly daily to AIBs at this point and it will continue to happen throughout Q4. There will be a decent supply through Q4.

Now let me say this again as it is worth hearing. There is no way that when AMD was doing its projections for supply, that it could have even fathomed that NVIDIA would totally **** the bed on 3080/90 supply for the quarter, effectively abandoning the $500 to $1000 GPU TAM. NVIDIA has left such a gaping hole in the market that there is no way it can be filled currently. From my information and analysis, AMD projected to grow its portion of the TAM and will have inventory to do that. The sad fact is that NV simply abandoned its customer in that market and there is no possible way for AMD to fill the void.

8Pack is a talented overclocker of computer hardware.

He does not have customer empathy in mind. :p

i have no gpu no trombone no pants and no bog paper and no shops open within 10 miles, i feel im going to back at step 0 very soon, oh and no beer so perhaps not

They've stated you'll have a refund within 24 hours, not unreasonable.
Not unreasonable, money has been taken for something that will never exist and that's 'not unreasonable', everywhere would love a customer like you. Its also not just 24 hours in some cases, its payment vendor dependent.

Loyalty is always mentioned here. When us forum members spend our money here rather than at other companies, whose price maybe cheaper, that is loyalty. When have OCUK shown us any loyalty?

It goes both ways - I tend to use OCUK if prices are similar due to free DPD postage (having DPD over other couriers IS a big deal to me, especially where I live) but that loyalty only goes so far and I do buy my gear all over.

Even though my card came from OCUK today, I promise you I was spamming other sites and if I'd managed an RRP one elsewhere, I'd have cancelled here.

I won't be the only one like that.
