AMD 7nm GPU News and Rumours 2018/2019

Sorry but I'm not interested in £1300 cards. These will give the mid range a bit of a speed boost.
You're talking to a guy who exclusively buys mid-range cards.

If you think the mid-range is at all exciting, or has been for the last 5-6 years even, then no. Just no.

Actually the mid-range is *more* depressing than the high end.

The high end has a decent jump in perf - the downside being you need to be a multi-billionaire to see it. But at least 0.1% of people can see it :p

The mid-range is just endless stagnation.

Tell me I'm wrong...

Well, the 2080 Ti costs as much as a new top-notch smartphone - can't exactly see the problem to have both :D

What card do you own?

These will likely be 980ti performance for mid range prices. I don't see how that can be bad.

I'm waiting for Zen2+Navi.

Coming from 2500k+480.

Need a big jump or I can't get excited enough to open my wallet ;)

We'll be on 7nm for about 5 years or more, so it makes sense to jump then.
Well yeah these will not be a enough of an upgrade for you but I can see them being a good option for new PC gamers or coming from older cards like 7970/680.

(etc)

If we get to 7nm GPUs anytime soon. We don't have even simple promises at present.

Don't. Better go now for Zen++RTX 2070.
With a pain in my heart, but AMD with their GPUs are done for now.

Vega 56 is £350. These will not be more than that.

That's a good point, with the Vega 56 available here for £359 it doesn't leave much room between the 580 special edition's £290 and Vega for the 590 to squeeze into.

Doh didn't see Gibbo's post.

They shall be under £300 here at OcUK, don't care what they cost in USA or Canada, all that matters is what we sell at which shall be under £300

There is talk of rebates for the initial batches, please tell us their will be no such shenanigans here at OCUK.

I was going to be brave and post a guess of £260/280 ish but basically it's not hard to guess why 500 is just nonsense.

But the point was that even the TWICE higher performance RTX 2070 doesn't cost 500 in its cheapest flavours.
If the 590 occupies the 199.99 of the current cheapest 580, then fine, if more not fine and 0 sales.
