AMD Bulldozer Finally!

@ drunkenmaster , BD broken the world record which is good but it doesn't show us what fully stable clocks it can do within the safety voltage/temps and with normal cooling...

we've not seen the safety voltages/temps specs yet from amd.

Well I completely changed my upgrade path thinking it was out next month. New mobo/ram and gfx card on the way....so this best arrive within 5-6 weeks or I'm going over to Intel
 
I think it will range in price from the quads @ £100-120 the hexcores at 120-140 and the
8 cores from 140 - 200

Thats pure guesstimation based on the quoted US figures.

Was that direct $ to £? If so I'd be surprised if they don't end up being significantly more over here.
 
I'm chomping at the bit to get back to the PC world but have decided to wait for this new BD chip. I can order everything over the next few weeks in preperation for the chip but whats the likely hood of seeing it at the end of the month. Im waiting for BF3 and dont want to splash out the cash on the previous gen if BD is only weeks away. Anybody else in the same boat?

End of this month - none.

Mid to end of next month is more likely.

Righto! An official release date would be rather nice from AMD though. :D

Looking forward to gaming on a PC rig again and Ive got a healthy budget for it so the sooner AAMD get the goods out the better. Never experienced AMD in years gone by. Was always an Intel man, but was always told bang for buck AMD delivers when it comes to gaming. Its only one game that Im interested in and thats BF3.
