They are pricing it that low as they know the performance is going to be poor or rubbish, it's the only logical outcome. If AMD had a stonking chip, they would be shouting about it and price it accordingly, i'm sorry but imo this reeks of failure tbh.
I fear you may be right. I bought an FX53 years ago when AMD were outperforming intel and it was by no means competitively priced, they knew it was good and they were reaming performance orientated users for it.
