There's no reason to buy BD period![]()
What about if you want to run 8 VMs? Would a 2600k perform as well as a BD 8 core then?
well if BD does have the TLB bug and if amd brings out a B3 or C0 to fix it. people should have the right to rma they B2 chip as it's faulty.

but they with C2 to C3 on phenom II which had minor improvementsLike I said before I can't see them re-releasing a minor revision of this thing, minor improvements simply aren't good enough to waste time on especially if they can software patch it.
If anything they will get to work on making major improvements all across the board and rebrand it as Bulldozer II so that they can let this thing RIP along with Phenom 1.
So Bulldozer is starting to look more and more like Barcelona: Not only is the performance underwhelming, but apparently the stability is not 100% either.

also they are already working on a new revision B3
Confirmed. From henceforth, shall be known as....
DERPDOZER
http://www.theffwiki.com/amd-bulldozer-b3-revision-is-in-the-works/Yeah but Phenom II was a good chip.
Is it 100% confirmed they're working on a B3? imo they need to make some major improvements not just minor ones and with that they might rebrand it.
This launch reminds me very much of Phenom 1 and with that they just did a software fix which gimped performance (tough luck to those who bought it) and got to work on a much improved version (Phenom II).
This penalty was not accounted for in pre-release previews of Phenom, hence the performance of early Phenoms delivered to customers is expected to be less than the preview benchmarks. "B3" stepping Phenom processors were released March 27, 2008 without the TLB bug and with "xx50" model numbers.
I wonder if the fix to the BSOD's will be another performance decrease fix like the Phenom's?
Yes it would, a 2600K is nearly 50% faster clock for clock
The FX4 and FX6 parts are just failed FX8 parts, except as far as I know, unlocking isn't possible.
And lolDozer fail ;

-1: Speculation.
How is a question negative?
The software fix for Phenoms decreased the performance, if they do the same here, it's a perfectly valid question.
The FX4 and FX6 are just failed FX8 parts, the fact the FX8 parts aren't here yet is evidence of the poor yields.
I'm not going to buy an FX8 to use it myself, why would I?
i didn't say there was but if the chip is faulty or defected the person could rma it as it's not running stable.Well I just looked at Wiki page for the original Phenom and according to that I'm wrong and AMD did later release a B3 stepping but iirc there was no upgrade program for B2 owners unless someone can prove me wrong.
