AMD Bulldozer Finally!

AMD make the better graphics cards at the moment mate hence why.

I LOL'd at Nvidia's excuse for SLI being only on Intel systems in that blog though :) - Got nothing to do with the fact their ship is sinking lol

Nice thread..first it was 25 days (as some said you must count only sundays :D),now fanboys start they typical BS..and what NV has to do with this thread???
Especialy i like this one - ".... the fact their ship is sinking lol" i am really LOL'd hard at those words :D Just shows real knowledge of IT
Fact is,Intel making fastest cpu's,and amd cant even come close to them, they high-end cant even be compared to Intels mainstream, and no point to talk about about 980X,990X,2500K,2600K
I enjoyed and had lots of amd based pc's until Intel came with C2D,so no fanboyism involved.
As for amd upcoming Shovel, its just to long no any proper leaks,Intels SB got leaks about year before launch, amd suppose to release Shovel soon, yet no any info, and everybody who says its good thing,well..its not,any nice benches would be advantage atm for amd.

It been discussed many times already would it would not be an advantage to AMD ATM & if you were an OEM you would think the same too & seeing as OEM is the biggest market then what they want comes first.
It seems as if you have not read through the thread because just saying that it would be advantage atm for amd without addressing the reasons that has been posted as to why it would be not.

My CPU usage on crysis 2 @ 1920x1080 with everything max is around 65% I believe (I may be wrong), I'm running an i5 2500k @ 4.5GHZ... At 80-90% I would wait a couple of months until you full max out your CPU and also the prices will have came down by then.

thanks for the advice, that's exactly what i'm going to do,wait for bulldozer if it's weak for gaming then i'm getting the i5 2500k,either way my out dated Q6600 must go if i'm going to play newer games like bf3 on my PC. :)

Seconded as905 :P My outdated x 2 5000+ has taken some stick got it at 3ghz (not a BE so can't get more out of it) eye's are on the 2500k but since i don't make a lot of money I'm slowly buying the parts with mobo/cpu/mem to be the last item's in the hope BD is reasonably priced with performance above or on par with the i 5 2500k

At this year's Computex expo, that is scheduled to take place between May 31 and June 4 in Taipei, Taiwan, motherboard makers will introduce their first AM3+ Bulldozer solutions based on the 900-series chipset logic developed by AMD.

According to sources form Taiwanese motherboard makers, AMD hasn't established an official launch date for Bulldozer, but allowed them to display their solution based on the 900-series chipset at the Computex fair.

“There are no exact embargo dates at the moment but the latest information from AMD is that we are allowed to launch at Computex,” said a source close to the industry that was quoted by the Sweclockers publication.

The 900-series will include three new motherboard chipsets, dubbed 990FX, 990X, and 970 and all of these support AM3+ processors as well as Nvidia's SLI technology.

The main difference between the three chipsets is the amount of PCI Express lanes available as the 990FX features 40 such lanes that can be routed to run two PCI Express x16 slots or four PCIe x8 slots, while the 990X packs just a pair of PCIe x8 slots.

The 990FX is compatible with two-way (2 x16) and three-way (3 x8) SLI setups.

All of the 900-series motherboard chipsets feature SATA 6Gbps with TRIM support, RAID 0/1/10/5, IOMMU I/O virtualization, as well as USB 3.0 support (via third party controllers).

The 900-series motherboards are also compatible with older AM3 processors.

All the reports that have been arriving until now stated that Bulldozer is scheduled for an early June release, so AMD could be considering a Computex launch for the Zambezi FX desktop chips.

AMD will initially launch four Zambezi FX CPUs, two featuring an eight-core design, while the other two will packs six and four processing cores respectively and additional chips are expected in the October-November timeframe

Looks like 990 Chipset is not too far away :) - Taken from here:
