AMD confirms Ryzen 7 5800X3D launches this spring, Zen4 Raphael in 2H 2022

AMD are shifting everything from 7nm to 6nm, Ryzen 5000 CPU's, Consoles, GPU's, the lot....

There is a 6nm RX 6950XT coming, its clocked significantly higher than the 7nm RX 6900XT.

6nm is better than 7nm, its a different node, its stands to reason power consumption is down and possibly higher clocks.

Makes sense to spread production over a few nodes especially when looking at stacking chips. I would like to see a range of lower power parts too.

Have you got a source Humbug - just fancy doing a bit of reading.

Well they need to compete with CPUs like the 12400 and 12700. 12400f is around £160-£170. 12700f is £310-£320. So, realistically, anything above £400 would be a rip off. It's quite possible though, if they can't produce enough, just like with the 5800X.

Cheapo H610 LGA1700 (DDR4) motherboards are around £80 now, so, not much reason for people to avoid considering changing over to Intel, especially with a Raptor Lake upgrade being a very likely option later.

If it's £500-£600 that's 12900 / 12900K pricing territory...

"Changing over to Intel" ? from what?

From an AMD system. It might actually be cheaper just to buy a cheap Intel LGA 1700 board if people are looking for an upgrade from Zen 3 or older CPUs. At least, compared to upgrading to a 5800X3D CPU.
