**AMD Fiji Thread**

Can someone explain to me the significance of power draw please? How does it impact on people?

To the uneducated like me, its kinda like the current trend in cars where young people care more about MPG than BHP, it seems almost depressing.

Is it down to temperatures and ability to overclock?

I have a 750w PSU and as long as it can power my card then I dont really care what the card draws.

What is making it such an important characteristic these days?

Power equals heat which then needs cooling as we all know energy is a constant. Some are bothered, others are not!

That's a question for another thread, power draw is more of a concern with thermals than the power consumed, energy efficiency on high end parts isn't as much of a concern, but the transfer of that thermal energy is - crudely put!

AMD have a point , why are textures resident in the card memory , when not being used? so scrub them until then are procedurally needed thus reducing memory overheads

Because calling textures from vram is much quicker than loading them from system ram every time you need them

All gpus have memory management that ditches unused textures when others are needed, but doing it to aggresively leads to texture pop in

Sniper elite 3 is expected to blow away the 54% average performance bump of the Fury X over the 290X because it scales with memory bandwidth.

Looking at those two results above its more a like 70%+ performance bump.

Valley will be the other big one which will scale like crazy with HBM.

Full circulation :)
Left space to fit the fury X rad at the back, seeing as I won't put it in my loop I had to swap a 360 in the top for a 240 to leave space but I now have 5x120 just for CPU XD
