This is making me so indecisive!

Do I cancel my weekends Zotac order and wait for the Fury x.... or just leave it and potentially regret my purchase!

The engineers actually tested Fury X passive at stock and the thermal limit was not reached after hours of gaming this is how good this cooler is. Not suggesting you guys should run like that but just saying.

Does that mean it should be safe to mod the BIOS to allow fanless idle? as that's the potential deal breaker for me and I was planning to wait for a Fury Strix/Gaming, but if the Reference one can be modded to only use the fans under load that would be great.

It's mainly ASUS GPU lead times that are slow, there after care in general is great. Don't be afraid to contact their UK centre by phone.

I am glad you have because my DSL-AC68U still doesn't work properly, as don't many others, and Asus have disappeared and it seems refuse to help now...

Sorry that pics a bit dark, do you mean you had the rad on a bottom fan mount drawing air in from outside or that it was just loose in the case?

Loose in bottom of the case, so not drawing in fresh air and not exhausting the air, so very impressive indeed.

Pointless though, there is still a pump which won't be silent/noiseless, so would be a pretty pointless modification because the fan at 15% is hardly audible.

I'd guess.

Stock 1000/1050 = Matching stock TI (beating some games/losing others).
1200 over-clock = Matching/beating most overclocked 980ti - losing to G1.
1300+ over-clock= potentially beating 980ti G1.

For Fury X I would speculate:

1.2v = 1.1GHZ
1.3v = 1.2GHZ
1.4v = 1.3GHZ

I am not going to report my overclocks without voltage yet as stating Mhz will probably get my hands slapped.

But mine is not doing 1200MHz on stock voltage.

No idea as software cannot recognise the VRM, so no idea unfortunately.

Hi,

Temperature is only one factor. HBM is very low voltage. It's current that kills and memory ic as compacted as this is likely to not handle voltage well, may even be dead spots in stablity by doing this.

Ah you meant vram oc then...i thought you meant it will degrade from the gpu oc/heat
