Did you not listen to anything huddy said? Between December and January first Freesync displays will land. Just because Samsung said March that doesn't mean others won't come sooner.

We known this for ages now.

No need for the attitude and you could have just said "Huddy said between December and January" Did I run your cat over or something?

Suppose shanks gets fed up with ignorance.

But you also accused me of never having any intention of owning AMD, so I can't really take anything you say seriously.

I see your not defending your lies, taken the deflection approach.

I'll address your point though.

When you get yourself an AMD discrete gpu or 2, then we'll talk seriously, while were at it, I also don't feel the need to display X drivers are **** whenever I talk about fully supported gpus either I may add, I leave that for the fanbois.

He said that prior to the Samsung announcement, there's been no update from the actual manufacturers that i'm aware of, unless someone knows different?
Huddy doesnt work for BenQ or Viewsonic, so i'd believe an announcment from them directly rather than 3rd hand rumours through someone that doesnt work for them

If they were coming in December/January I wouldve expected a press release from them by now.

Yer, I would expect an official statement from Viewsonic or BenQ by now if they are releasing now or next month. Huddy (who I like) is more PR, so when it comes to talk, I will take it from the Manufacturers over AMD everyday.

samsung has freesync screens coming out in March 2015.
AMD rules, as Freesync is the better solution, anything else?

No news? BenQ, Viewsonic, Samsung all coming soon. Driver support added.

That's the latest news kiwi.

Thanks! What's the reason for the delay? My understanding is that freesync screens don't need a separate hardware unit like gsync?

viewsonic and benq seemed to be ready to release based on rumours from AMD, however samsung came along and announced first with a release time frame of "March" sometime, and viewsonic and benq have gone silent (e.g. haven't actually now given out firm release dates / models / specs etc.), so (again) with only the rumour mill for information, it seems that AMD and Samsung have done some sort of deal to delay the other manufacturers from announcing anything and possibly delayed their launches

though equally this could be the same as the "asus exclusive" rumour aimed at gsync that people belly ached about but turned out not to be true

It is possible that any delays might be down to AMD asking the manufacturers to wait until they have the drivers available, seeing as AMD promised the world they would have drivers out as soon as the monitors were available.

AMD will take quite a bit of stick if they mess this up, so I'm sire they want to get it right.

Good news the Driver are Ready :p They been out there for sometime now.. How could AMD showcase Freesync on shop floor without the Drivers.

So you can download these drivers now can you.......NO....well they haven't been out for anytime at all then have they.

Any drivers that AMD might have used to showcase Freesync (11 months ago they first demo'd it) most certainly would not have been customer ready and apparently their still not else you would have them by now.

Well hopefully, maybe soon then we can get to see if Freesync is actually a good alternative to G-Sync or not.

11 months ago? Huddy press other week they had them on shop floor for people to play with and use.
The Driver is out there ready, just not ready for us yet. That is what I ment.. Press site have already benched the Driver.

Dont worry its going to be better :p mark my word.

Also, gibbo has confirmed that LG's got freesync screens "early" next year:

Hi there

Spoke to LG.

Hoping to get 29" and 34" super-wide flat IPS panels early next year with FreeSync which shall be exclusive to OcUK in UK. :D

So IPS and Freesync, boooooooooooooooooom! :)

+ the 34" dell ultrawide monitor supposedly has freesync which is due very soon.

It was at CES 2014 in January that AMD first showed off freesync.

Dont worry its going to be better :p mark my word.

I really do hope it is every bit as good, as myself I haven't seen GSync in action yet, but the responses from people who have seen it, including my brother, git, have been 'OMG its a game changer'.

Although I will admit there is a 'tiny' part of me that would kinda love to see AMD fall flat on its face and it be rubbish. I say this just because it would be fun to see Mr Huddy and maybe certain forum members trying to talk their way round it. Of course this would not be good for the industry as a whole and that is why it is only a tiny weenie part of me wants to see it fail. As you say it might even be better than Gsync, and that in itself will produce some interesting discussion's on here I'm sure. ;)
