Cheers but I picked up a new H110 today, wanted to fit it today but I'm decorating this weekend so if I cant manage it tomorrow it'll be in the week

Looking forward to seeing what my current temps drop and then how much more head room I have

Have fun decorating, yes you should see better temp's.

I think i need to work on a 5ghz overclock.

Decorating isn't fun for me but I like the sense of achievement, got a lot done today too inc fitting a skirting board which I've never done before

More interestingly though I've installed the H110, at first I thought it was really noisy it sounded like a plane taking off setup as an intake, I then realised for my setup I wanted it as an exhaust so I refitted it and to my surprise its now a lot quieter, really not sure why though.

As for temps its exactly what I wanted, a whole 15C cooler in Heaven with my current OC so lots of headroom to play with and my case and VRM temps are also down due to there now being no hot air expelled into the case, here is terrible a pic

During the week I'll start toying with the OC and see where I can get to

Thats good it's lower temp's try a stress test on the cpu as heaven is for gpu's, with your vrm's there no sensor on them only the voltage regulators.

When your gaming to you use a overlay.

I'll run real bench when I oc but my pc is a gaming pc so I only really run Heaven, its a pointless torturing the cpu because its synthetic and will never get that kind of use where as Heaven mimics exactly what the pc is used for daily

Really, I thought one of the tmpin figures was for the VRM

True and what program do you use to monitor temps, i know tmpin0 is motherboard, tmpin2 is the cpu temp, for tmpin1 i read somewhere it's the north bridge.

Edit, i dont think that's right, im going to download amd overdrive to see what is what.

Ok i been looking around and someone said this.

(temperatures 1,2,3 are SB,NB,CPU in that order on gigabyte AMD 9xx boards)

Downloaded amd overdrive and max core temp is 70c,but it's done by thermal margin, so i had 28.8c till i reached it, i was using hwifo64 and my cpu temp was @40c which is tmpin2 on HWmonitor or temperature 3 on hwinfo64 and openhardware monitor.

I do some more digging to see what else i can find.

Could you download hwinfo64 and run ibt just to compare temps, if tmpin1 is northbridge mine should run cooler than your's as it's watercooled.

Stable at 4.9GHZ in Intel Burn Test

Took a lot more Volts to get there over 4.7

Stopping for now, will have a think about the magic 5.0GHZ over the next few days

Look at the gflops there different, which your not using avx version.

Is this what you need with HWinfo What are you looking for?

My GFlops are still a lot lower than yours and I used the link you provided, wonder why that is, less RAM perhaps?

Not sure why it's lower but i do know you need to put a fan over your vrm area as they hit 115c, really you want to keep them uder 95c

I was trying to work out if temp difference, to see if they are what people said they was.

I didn't notice that, should start using HWinfo instead of HWMonitor - Not sure where I can mount a fan either

see lots of posts about the FX chips, requiring around 1.4v for 4.4ghz and higher..
id like to happily say.. Im at a stable 4.5ghz with just 1.29v

Give me 5mins and i will upload my 1 to mediafire, for a fan just put it infont on the vrm's (80mm,92mm) is fine.
