AMD launches B550 motherboards

MSI B550M Mortar, EVGA GTX670 FTW.
I'm mostly concerned that I can't access the BIOS at all. I don't see any splash screen or anything until I get that message and that's it.

Does pressing f1 or f2 when that message pops up do anything?

If it has bios flashback try updating to the new beta bios. 1.0.0.2

If that doesn't work you might be best contacting MSI customer service directly as it would likely be faster than going through the rep on here.

I've been on the forum and they say it won't boot at all without a UEFI GPU. So looks like I need a new card.

Do we have an MSI rep on here.
Built my new pc up but I can't get into the BIOS.

It gives me a "there is no gop support detected in this card" message.

But I can't access the BIOS to do anything about.

Sounds like the GPU doesn't support UEFI.

Look for a BIOS update for your Graphics Card, and flash it if you can find a newer one, to locate the BIOS version use GPU-Z.

Check for your card here... https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/?manufacturer=EVGA&model=GTX+670

If you can't find it send EVGA support a support ticket with your S/N and card version and they will send you a compatible BIOS.

Anyone heard if Overclockers are going to stock the B550m Aorus Pro as they only have the Elite model on pre-order at moment.

There aren't really any X570 matx boards worth looking at within reasonable price either so this board looks pretty good and would rather go to Overclockers if can.

I've had a quick scan at what's out there but on balance I think I'd rather wait a month and spend the extra £50-60 to get a b550 board rather than a b450. Feels like it would be worth it for pci-e 4.0 especially the way things are headed with future PS5/xbx games being reliant on high speed SSDs.

Local friendly person or shop can do it. Just get the file from EVGA first, or spend £xxx on a new GPU.
I find it annoying that the board doesn't just boot into legacy mode.
Even worse that it didn't allow access to the bios.
I thought you could access the BIOS no matter what.

Can't access without a working/supported GPU, and no iGPU. Borrow a GPU from someone?
I actually want a new GPU, the gtx670 I imagine isn't going to be up to much in newer games especially now I have a 1440p 165hz monitor.
Just need to decide between a 5700xt and 2070 super

B450 board arrived today, delighted to see the "Ready for Ryzen 3000" sticker on the front of the box. No CPU swapping for me :)

Got my GTX 1660 to get me going, bit hot to be working so i might finish the build off tonight or first thing in the morning. Fingers crossed no more issues.

Installing windows now, amazing that older pre uefi vbios cards won't work.

Anyone that gets an MSI board don't install Dragon Center.
Took me ages to figure out but it was limiting my upload speed to 5Mb/s with a process called cFosspeed.
I have no idea what the idea of that is but it's stupid.

Uninstalled it to be safe - cfosspeed as a separate program so JUST getting rid of Dragon centre doesn't fix it!
