Moving goal posts here

They was a clear as day difference in motion DLSS was a complete blur fest on release. Nvidia definitely have improved the technology but its still not perfect like some on here would have you believe.

Amd will be using DirectML am sure Microsoft will push this for next gen Xbox to squeeze every bit of performance out of the console.
Sony most likely will stick with checkerboard rendering unless DirectML or similar works on Ps5.

Oh i dunno, check the thread.

https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/t...ing-rtx-dlss-does-not-work-this-gen.18862822/

Ive even posted in it myself, on the first page too.

Im going to have to give up the tommy tanking, and get myself to specsavers too, as i too can't see a difference in Exodus, with the DLSS on, what with everyone saying, its a just a blury mess, thats what i was expecting, but i was surprised, yeah, maybe if i stop playing the game, and shove my face right up against the screen, and scan about, i might go, oh aye, it does look a bit blurier here/there with DLSS on, but i don't play my games like that :p

Few others have posted the same too throughout the thread, but look at the sheer amount of slating, and lolling posts still after, so if AMDs RT, only looks different to Nvidias RT, when you just stand about, just looking around, and through looking at screenshots, just like that, in the inevitable comparison articles that will be coming, and they don't get an absolute slaughtering, then im going to have to buy a new hat :p

Really looking forward to seeing what AMD bring to the table. Their silence is a good sign to me, they may actually have something worth protecting this time. I'm surprised how many people are underplaying their part in the consoles. If roles were reversed and Nvidia were in both consoles we'd never hear the end of it :p

True that is something I've mentioned before with AMD that I find frustrating - they tend to run their mouth too much when they don't have something to show for it and keep quiet when they have something they should be talking up :s

Indeed and certainly adds fuel to the fire with Nvidia also being very quiet, something is brewing. I'm betting in a few months time threads here will be on fire ;)

I certainly think some people are going to be eating their words before too much longer hah.

Digital Foundry is saying the ray tracing shown off on the games at the PS5 reveal are only equal (in terms of image quality) to the Low setting for RTX PC games running from an Nvidia GPU to date.

This is exactly what I've been predicting since the day ray tracing for console rumours emerged - that even if these machines had ray tracing, they would never be able to match PC's ray tracing. Once again, consoles are relegated to Low Quality settings.

Its a given anyone who thought they were getting maxed out visuals and RT on the new consoles is daydreaming. These little APU leave the devs with two choices performance or visual. Will they be a step up from last gen sure but they much choose wisely what road to take and that road will never be the same road as PC.

PC will always lead the image quality and performance race when you can have a big GPU that is almost the same size and weight as a console what are people expecting? LOL my VEGA 64 is like half of the PS4 pro thickness and length.

Isn't this all a bit pointless, when a lot of the footage is alpha/pre-alpha and was stated to be so??

It tells me a lot they are having to magnify images 200% to actually tell apart the differences on pre-release games.

It's also really weird that so many here are getting threatened by consoles, when they should be hoping consoles are good,so the next generation of GPUs will be significantly better than what we have now.

It's called a "hit piece". I recall they were called out before for their bias.

I'm all in favour of AIO coolers being a part of the package.... so long as they perform well and the volume part sales are passed onto the consumer and not used as a lever to upsell. We frequently see this with PC cases and their includes fans, when done right its a good thing.

Looking at the purported price of the PS5,an RTX2060 Super costs more than the whole console. It's going to beat most mainstream gaming PCs. As time progresses, almost all multi-platform games will be developed with the AMD solution in place too,so that is going to help on the desktop side. The console devs will extract every bit of performance out of it.

Yeah, I saw the alleged amazon webpage leak of 599 499 for the PS5 "Pro" and 499 399 for the PS5 (not sure of the exact names). If that's true there is no way to expect people, on mass, to buy higher priced (close to or around $1000) GPUs if they aren't priced competitively.

One thing digital foundry got wrong is the whole forest before the tree. PS4/Xbox haven't provided any games that are ray traced. That's the point. But when doing a hit piece that's thrown out the window.

I thought the leak was 400 Euro for the entry level "digital" model?

I wouldn't put any stock in any of the pricing leaks so far, as they have been from ridiculous to amazing.

Gran Turismo will never come to PC imo. Would love if it did. I just think they will always keep a few exclusives at the very least.

We will likely get Horizon Zero Dawn 2 in like 2-5 years though. Doubt even that would be just a 12 month exclusive.

That's probably easier to show over YT the difference. Take Skyrim, a slow paced game, having reflections at the quarter of the resolution in water, windows, etc., you'll definitely notice that while a 3rd person action game, probably less so. Playing GTA5 in first person view, again, will be very noticeable. On a driving game... well, even the normal stuff they do now, for me, is good enough.
Also take into account that apparently that "perfect reflection" is also done to save on performance and that was noticeable right away.

Am I'm not sure why people saw that as a hit piece, after all, that's the situation right now...
