...yet it still cost more than the slightly faster 2070 Super
Um, no, unless you want to bring up that old chestnut of the top-end, over-engineered AIB models costing more than the bargain basement, bottom-tier with barely-adequate coolers comparison. Yes, the Sapphire Nitro costs more than the KFA2 basic, but the AMD reference costs less than both.

Still inhaling?

Update: From a few other websites now using 20.7.2 instead of 20.7.1

For some reason ComputerBase didn't include 1440p in the F1 2020 results.
But at 1080p shows a 6 FPS boost going from 20.7.1 to 20.7.2 in F1 2020.
In Death Stranding between drivers it was 10 fps at 1440p from the Guru3d review.

Why are you posting that in a thread about next gen gpus? Is there not an amd driver thread??
I wanted confirmation of the results showing how well RDNA 1 has improved in the latest games released. The reason for it as it's rumored that RDNA 2 is upto 50% faster then 2080ti.
So far RDNA 2 is little more then doubling of RDNA 1 and the 5700xt hasn't been much of a competitor of the 1080ti/2070s until now.

Since the drivers are shown improved performance as of recent it shows, at least me, that RDNA 2 skus could show a pretty descent improvement over the results we see now.
We still don't know what all is in the Uarch of RDNA 2 expect that whatever remainder there is of GCN will be removed.

Because the performance of RDNA 1 is the benchmark for how RDNA 2 will perform. It's called Navi 2X for a reason, and if AMD are pushing to double RDNA 1 then it's very appropriate to post RDNA 1 performance when speculating about what RDNA 2 will bring.

Says the guy who posts about DLSS in many a thread given the chance.. like its the new garlic bread. :D
Haha :D

As soon as DLSS is mentioned anywhere on the forum you can be assured Grim5 and his alt accounts will be turning up not so long after :p:D

Thats about the weirdest reasoning you could come up with

Nice looking good for rdna 2 :p:rolleyes:

About as weird as using FXAA to degrade an native image to try and trick people into picking the wrong image to show how great DLSS is? :p:D

Crusaders will crusade. In the name of Jensen Huang you shall believe or be purged!
¨
Random Human: But but... Mr. Crusader, how about all the evidence against your beliefs?

Crusader:
Have blind faith in Jensen Huang,
AMD is the Angel of light,
Jensen Huang works in mysterious ways.

Random Human: But Mr. Crusader, my eyes see the difference!!
Crusader: Work of the devil, it is not real! Your eyes cannot be trusted.

/sorry for the rant, had to get it out somehow :P

Isn't the sweet spot most are after

1440p
144 FPS+
Circa £600
and in my case 'Quiet!'

I couldn't give a monkeys how much energy it uses and it could be ugly as hell and I'd still love it

I agree, don't care about the looks however I do care about power draw to some extent. A solid performer at 1440p with minimums in the 120ish area(New AAA's, High to max settings, not counting poorly optimized titles), quiet to slight audible, no more than 250-280watts and no more than 500-550£ is properly where I'm at. So most likely nothing for me this time around due to my budget limit.

EDIT: Bolded

I'll chop in my Vega 56, whatever that is worth +500 is my budget, at worst if nothing is affordable I'll stick to this gen and get a 5700xt which will tick me over for another cycle

So it's not just me that noticed :) I know it's a common accusation but when I read around tech sites I often wonder if there are paid cheerleaders for companies. When accounts bang on constantly in favour of one product or company regardless, it's either that or some kind of fixation or other pseudo religious behaviour. I'd love to know the truth...

Yeah I know we have a few clowns that say its pro AMD in the past few years, but you can spot the nvidia fanboys a mile off and they for some reason think its going to fly in the AMD driver thread for example when they dont own an AMD card..

The funny thing is such behaviour does more to put me of than anything else. Whenever I see people blindly post pro AMD or pro Nvidia continually, it just comes of somewhat cringeworthy.

I am pro wallet and pro me, won’t catch me being loyal to either company as they are not loyal to me, but to their bottom line.
